we used this hotel as it was a Relais du Silence and it was only a small detour
we were very disappointed, we had a very unfriendly welcome

the room was small, but sufficient for one night's stay
a shower that didn't work correctly and by the evening a very odd smell from the toilet

to claim to be a Relais du Silence is NOT correct, the room we were offered that was on the road only to be awoken in the morning by a lorry parked outside discharging 'house gas' unlucky timing ? maybe !

breakfast average, however a very confusing coffee machine was situated in the corner, we were not told it was there nor were we shown how to use it (and it appears to be very dirty)

when checking out again very unfriendly, i thought to check to see if the indicated wi-fi was available of course i was told it was 'en panne' broken - what a surprise, some how i think it never works

i have to admit the dinner was very nice, very well cooked and a good wine but again the service was cold, unfriendly and totally unwelcoming one almost has the impression that they really don't want you there

all in all not worth they stay - if you're heading to towards St Jean Pied-du-Port carry on and head there or if your going the other way carry on to Oleron St Marie don't bother stopping at Hotel Chilo in Barcus

When you consider this has a 3 bird rating for a Relais du Silence (the same as Des Las D'Halco) or just one behind Le Manoir de Lys in Normandie, no way, no comparison
