“Honeymoon 21 nights April/ May 2010”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Stayed here for 21 nights for our honeymoon, We basically wanted to get somewhere, unpack and basically lie on the beach and relax for the whole time. We did that every day as well as some tours organised from the hotel. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left the service was unreal, Coconut drinks on arrival and flower necklaces on our necks, no problem with suitcases, if given a chance they would practically unpack your bag for you. The staff here work extremely hard and a little thanks goes an awful long way. Or room was just beautiful, huge, we had a little balcony over looking the gardens, with a little table chair and outside ceiling fan. A big swan made of towels on the bed, petals in heart shape, our room was made up twice everyday, exceptionally clean. This place was like a little piece of heaven. I think alot of people who post reviews on here are looking for way too much. We had very high expectations as we wanted to be pampered for our honeymoon and that we were. All of the staff were very courteous, the range of food for breakfast was amazing from healthy to hearty food. The pool is beautiful and the hotel sits on the beach, which has the most fantastic views. Admittedly the direct water outside the hotel isnt as nice as there is a bit of land further out and there are no fresh waves, but walk literally 200meters to the right and you have amazing water with loads of waves. Koh who worked outside on the beach knew us to see and as soon as he saw us coming he would run and pull the big heavy wooden sunloungers out onto the beach and came over all day to see did we want drinks or anything etc. Of course we looked after him and he in turn looked after us. In saying that a couple we met over there brought all their own drink to the pool and had the staff running around bringing buckets of ice for them and buying nothing, very unfair and selfish these people have to earn a living.
At night turn right on to the beach and you could walk for miles past restaurants and lively bars ( The ARK bar is the Bomb). Other nights we had bought dvd's across the road and stayed in our room and ordered food, which was gorgeous.
Its a lovely spot the Muang Samui and we would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!

i stayed at this hotel over new year what a joke from the moment we arrived we were asked to go 15 minutes away to their sister hotel why .we stayed in a junior suite pool view i asked to be moved not to the ground floor my wife has a back problem walking stairs is not good for her not possible the girl said .the room i wanted was not occupied for 4 nights when i complained about the air conditioning at least 6 times, switching off on a regular basis they then said we could move to the ground floor. the soap was not changed only when we asked was it provided .the hotel has no supervision whatsoever the beach is like a tip never cleaned like other hotel beaches .nearby service in the restaurant especially at lunch time is basically nonexistant never saw anyone with any authority at all.the manager who i believe is new came to see me after being told we were not happy could only appologise he doesnt know what is going on .the reception staff are fantastic i would hate to have their job day we left i waited 25 minutes for some one to collect bags lo and behold here is this girl from reception trying to get bags downstairs to put in cart to take to reception this hotel is defianatley not any more than a 2 star that has the audacity to charge 5 star prices i would certainly not reccomend this hotel to my worst enemy let alone a friend .the best part of this hotel was leaving .the new years party was one of the worst i have attended why have thai entertainment when 90% of the guests are european or australian we went to bed at 10.30 the food was only ordinary and charged over$200 per person overaqll a total disappointment

“Paradise!”

From the reviews here, we were expecting a lot from this place. And we were not disapointed at all! From the moment we arrived, we were enjoing the relaxed and calm sorundings. We were greeted by the sweet and kind staff, got a cold drink and a nice touch; a orchid dekoration to wear around the wrist. The rooms are spacious and nicely dekorated in a boutique style. Everything was perfect, and the hotel staff even noticed my birthday, bringing a cake and singing a song. Breakfast is containing everything you could wish for and staff is very kind. The pool area is super, the beach is clean and the view amazing! A tip: let the hotel staff help you book trips and excursions, they know the serious operators. We would love to visit this place again!

“Amazing place! Perfect location! Highly Recommend”

We recently went on our honeymoon, and Muang Samui was one of the highlights. The location, the room, the breakfast... everything was perfect! The staff were friendly and service was exceptional. I would highly recommend staying here. We had a junior suite with garden view - it was a large sized room on the ground floor with a lot of privacy. The patio area was really serene, as the gardens were well maintained. A great stay!

“nice experience as long as you don't expect 5 star”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

We stayed 2 nights in a garden suite. When we arrived at the hotel, no one was there to greet us or to assist with luggage --- thankfully I had read some reviews and it mentioned the service lacking, so I wasn't totally surprised. The check in took an exceptionally long time, maybe 30 minutes, and we were the only guests checking in. They provided cool drinks and some flowers, which was a nice touch. The room itself is very spacious and comfortable but could use some maintenance/refurbishment. Bathroom was nice and big with the option of a rainshower or a spa. Like other reviewers, the water temperature was unpredictable, which is very dangerous when bathing a baby, like we had to do. For adults it is annoying and can be unpleasant. The bed creaked a lot (just by sitting on it) and the pillows were very hard and thick. The window seat is a nice touch though the covering for the seat should be replaced as it feels just a touch dingy.

Despite the very central location of the hotel, it felt secluded which was really nice. The landscaping is excellent and the pool is beautiful. Small touches could have made the pool area nicer, such as cleaning out the foot baths (from the beach to pool) once in a while as the water was murky and didn't really clean the feet -- or to maintain the "shower" to wash off sand, as it was slightly dilapidated and hard to use. It was easier just to trail all the sand into the pool area than to wash it off. The beach is beautiful as well, though it would be nice if the staff could pick up the trash that washes up or that guests drop. The restaurant is pretty with a lovely ocean view. Definitely very relaxing. The staff were nice if you smiled, but there is a feeling of negativity, suppressed anger or jaded - ness among the staff, which shows that the establishment might not be doing much to keep up the morale. The food is okay, not great, and breakfast has a good selection. The music playing during breakfast was really odd, like heavy metal from the 80s (The Scorpions). Not what one would expect. The staff at the restaurant are nice, in general, though you can tell that there are some morale issues. Same with the front desk. Just like another reviewer noted, the staff didn't pick up the dishes from room service overnight and we saw the leftover food and dishes at our door in the morning. When my husband asked a staff to help and pick up some of the food that dropped when the dishes were finally taken away the next day, he was told just to push the trash into the bushes (!). It was still there when we left. Odd. But the dishes should be fetched as sometimes there are dogs on the property and certainly leaving food out doesn't help.

Overall we had a nice stay. The hotel has a boutique-y vibe and is probably nicer than other hotels near it. We enjoyed the size of the room and the great location. This hotel has a lot of potential if the owners just put in a little more TLC and thought as well as a solid retraining of the staff. I wouldn't pay more than what I did on Agoda, which was about US$160 per night for the junior suite.

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor don't have privacy. Best to get 1st or 2nd level floors.
