“Wow! GREAT B&B by Vezelay! Loved it!!!”

Le Moulin des Templiers was a fantastic B&B! It is located 10 minutes from Vezelay in a lovely town called Portaubert, and the surroundings are gorgeous as the property is right by a small river! Our room was simple, tastefully decorated, quiet, and very very clean!, We had a really good nights sleep as the bed was so comfortable. Aimee was a wonderful, and I mean wonderful host! She was so sweet and made us feel right at home! We chose to eat dinner in the private dining room for guests. The dinner cost is over and above the room charge, and was reasonable and well worth it! The dining room had a rustic charm! We can't say enough about the dinner that was served; it was one of the BEST meals we had in France and we ate all over France! Aimee and her husband should be chef's! My husband went on and on about the Creme Brulee and said it was the best he ever had! It was such a nice experience staying at Le Moulin des Templiers! We LOVED it and want to visit again!

“Family run business providing extra care, service and quality food.”

We ( 2 couples) arrived late after 9pm, in the pouring rain after a long motorcycle journey from Calais. Aimee waited up for us to arrive and made us very welcome, gave us time to dry off and then served us a lovely home cooked 4 course meal with beer and wine after normal service had finished at 8pm. This was way beyond what we had expected. This was much appreciated.
The building is an old mill by a little river in a sleepy hollow, full of charm and history. A great little hide away. Dont expect five star luxury accommodation, but five star friendly servive and well worth a visit. Will go again one day if possible.

“Lovely place and great food”

We stayed three nights here and the location is wonderful. The rooms are tiny and very basic, as are the bathrooms. The hosts though a french couple are charming and helpful. The evening dinner is the best of french home country cooking and a delightful expereince.

“Yummy dinner, great location, ok room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2010

I would recommend this hotel to friends and family, especially for the food, atmosphere, and location. It's a 10 minute walk into the little town of Pontaubert. We enjoyed a stoll there after our lovely meal at the inn. Make sure you eat there! The host is a great cook. Being next to the river was nice, and the hotel is located in an area that makes it easy to get to Vezelay, the Abbaye du Fontenay, and some of the chateaux. The only slight drawback was the room. It was very basic and the walls were quite thin. But I liked opening our windows into the sounds and views of the forest.

We found Le Moulin des Templiers to be everything we had hoped for and more. The location on the Cousins river is beautiful, the inn is charming and the dinner was delicious. The dinner was so good that we tried to replicate it as soon as we returned home.
