We stayed at Blooming hotel a year ago around Christmas. The location is great, in the middle of the Dunes and in walking distance of the city centre. The hotel is a combination of older and newer buildings. Are room was nice and had a view over the garden.

The breakfast room is a bit dodgy, but really old school Dutch, as it reminded me a bit of the '90's. The atmosphere of this place is what makes this such a great place to stay and relax. The spa is very modern and basic, but really good enough for us. Good sauna!

It's very close to drive to Alkmaar (beautifull city to see, and also for shopping) or the beach.

I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a unique relaxing experience, the Dutch way. Keep up the good work!

We stayed in this hotel for two nights in January 2012. In general, we are very positive about our stay. The hotel is beautifully located in the dune area surrounding Bergen. It is a nice point of departure for a walk or bike tour towards Bergen aan Zee, at the sea. The design of the hotel is modern and clean. Having said that, the hotel room (unlimited room) was simple with no frills, although it did feature a comfortable rain shower, big bath tub, and a nice view towards the dunes. Yet, for a four-star hotel, we would have expected some more amenities in the room. There was no option to make coffee or tea, pen and stationary were absent, and the bed did not really feel king-size (although it was big enough). Also the restaurant has very little dinner options on the menu, it's better to take the walk (+/- 30 minutes) to town, there are better options.

Having said that, we found the staff to be very helpful -- in contrast to previous reviews on this website. They helped us out with terry shoes for the sauna, opened the swimming pool and sauna earlier than scheduled (per our request) and were willing to grant us access to the hotel's facilities after checking out.

Overall, we would certainly recommend this hotel.

Been there for 1 night, I really enjoyed excellent breakfast, great lunch and royal diner. Room was a bit small but very cozy, bath room also - small but cozy... Great place to stay for relaxing, walking in the forest or for business meeting. I like it very much.
In the restaurant waiters were super attent, also during the lunch...
Food - excellent...

Large, spacious, comfortable rooms, and a great breakfast buffet. However, the hotel features a rather strange interior design that I personally did not like, and is a bit out of town.
