We stayed at this hotel in July this year and it was beautiful!. It is an hours drive from lisbon and much easier to find than expected! The grounds are immaculate and brightly coloured with bourgonvillia stretching over the walls. We arrived on a friday and the hotel was near full, although there are only seven rooms! - i think it is very popular with the portugese as a weekend getaway, always a good sign!. The staff are very helpful and attentive.

The rooms all have an individual colour theme and are decorated beautifully with great attention to detail. We stayed in the blue room which overlooks the courtyard, It has a double bed and a sofa bed - the only complaint is the bed was unbelievably hard although some people prefer this!. We also stayed in the green room which is at the back of the hotel and although it overlooks the 'car park' (in quotations as most of the flowers disguise it and it is only a small gravelled area), it has a very tranquil little terrace with a hammock.

The breakfast room was lovely, set out as a buffet every morning, you were able to eat inside or outside on the veranda overlooking the pool. The pool area had a view of the surrounding countryside which was very relaxing there was also a large shaded area to cool down under when it became too hot!!

Dinner was seved in a seperate out building which had the same attention to detail as the rest of the house. It was a buffet style dinner which was home-made and it was always delicious! We ate on the terrace with lanterns and candles as lighting.

This was a lovely hotel and very unique. the food was amazing and there is plenty to do in the area, we will definately be coming back.
