We had a pool/golf view room, which was spacious clean and comfortable. All the hotel staff were very friendly, and helpful, which enhanced the pleasure of our stay.
Relaxing pool area with discrete music and plenty off space. Breakfasts were very tasty - the hot buffet had a range of dishes.
The main reason for our stay was the golfcourse and it was verry enjoyable to play, with a nice friendly clubhouse.

If you like American style hotels (ie. Sheraton, Westin, Marriott) that are spacious & have the amenities of four star hotels, you'll definitely like this place. There's no nickeling and diming you for internet service or parking. Wi-fi is available for free and voucher for a free drink per person at the bar (beer, wine or port). We stayed one night on May 30, 2010 since we were flying out the next day from Lisbon. We decided to stay near Sintra to visit the sites. The air is very fresh (a tad bit cooler) since you're in a "higher" elevation. The resort is very clean and of an excellent standard. Our room faced the golf-course and there were two? pools (very nice!). The hotel was not super busy so it was not noisy at all. I didn't try the spa but the price list was very reasonable. It is a very short drive to downtown historical area (5-10 minutes) so I definitely recommend staying here if you're planning on visiting Sintra.

I actually own a flat in the close off district of Quinta da Beloura 1 but still decided to spend one night with my wife in the Pestana Hotel next door. The location of the hotel is fabulous with amazing views over the Sintra mountain. The swimming pool is nice, the spa enjoyable, the restaurant good, the staff pleasant and helpful. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are nice. We got a nice balcony with view of the mountain, with a nice table a two chairs. There is a 18 h golf course. Good value for money, in particular if you find a last minute deal as we did.

Me and my wife like new hotels (but nothing against the old ones).
After reading some reviews from Sintra, we decided to visit 2 hotels: Tivoli (downtown) and Pestana (5 min downtown by car).
in our opinion, it's impossible to compare (Pestana is the best), specially for those who like the newest ones, like us.
The hotel is located inside a residential neighborhood (car is really necessary), with a very nice view from a golf field.
The service is perfect and the rate (last minute rate) was fare.
We recomend.
