We were booked in here for only one night but loved it so much we stayed another night. The Hotel is very old school farmhouse, very beautiful with lovely views. The meals we ate there both nights were AMAZING. Very very yum. Perfect location between Lucca & Pisa but also out in the country so nice & quiet. Would definitely return.

Situated midway between Lucca and Pisa, this hotel is easy to find, set well back from the main road and surrounded by gardens and countryside. It is an ideal base for visiting these two towns.

Our room in the old mansion was spacious and simply furnished, full of charm and character. The bathroom was a little small and could have been better appointed, but our stay was perfectly comfortable. The air-conditioning provided welcome relief from the heat of the day.

Dinner was excellent. A convivial evening outside on the terrace, with great local wines at very reasonable prices; simple food, nicely prepared and served by very friendly, efficient staff. The only disappointment here was breakfast, which could and should be greatly improved. I have never seen pre-packed croissants before, and settled for none-too-fresh bread instead.

I and my girlfriend stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The views from the hotel are outstandings! The hotel itself is so beautiful and full of history. Room was nice and clean, basic but had all we needed. Breakfast was also nice enough and food at the restaurant (they just cook dinners) was excellent. We never used the swinningpool but was huge and very pretty. Although I did use the tennis court which need some cleaning.....but I wont blame them for this one as I guess that no too many guests could play tennis.
I would recommend this hotel for anyone to want to experience the real italian tuscany.
By the way , it is well located. There are buses to Lucca and Pisa which run frequent enough. I would also recomend the restaurant at Santa Maria (which the hotel is). They cook awsome food.

we arrived after a beautiful drive from Bologna airport. We had booked online so we had no idea what we were going to find. All I can say is that this villa hotel is just as beautiful as the photos on the website. Unusually we were given the room that we had asked for - in the main villa. (we have found recently that most hotels don't necessarily give you the room that you have selected) It was a huge room- enough for the two of us and our 16 year old daughter. The room had the most beautiful view over the tuscan valley and was clean and cool. The bathroom was large and cool and clean.
We had the most wonderful dinner in the hotel restaurant that evening which has its own lovely terrace . Staff were all extremely friendly and we enjoyed learning some italian from them...

We tried other local restaurants during our stay in Lucca, but decided that the best restaurant by far was the one we had in our own hotel so we ate there 5 nights out of seven! They picked the herbs for the cooking directly from the terrace gardenbeside your table!

If you get the choice, don't stay in the annexe, make sure you stay in the main villa. unless of course, you have a pet with you - as they seem to put those with dogs in the Annexe.
The pool had a magnificent view and was nice and quiet .
We will definitely return here. We were pleasantly surprised and would defintely recommend it, especially as it is only a 5 minute drive from beautiful Lucca and all it has to offer.
