Fantastic property. staff super friendly and met loads of nice people.
Great position on the island,2 minutes walk to the bus stop, various cheap eateries and little road side shops. Fabulous Flame Tree restaurant next door. Nice and private little outside bit outside room amongst garden.
Great fo couples, no kids R18 accommodation. Spa was relaxing althogh I have to admit I expected more, it was like a little room.
Nice and clean cant fault anything.

“Very nice”

As a father/daughter couple in the Cooks to celebrate her 21st birthday, we found Muri Beach Club Hotel to be much more than adequate for what we like. Our whole thought process for hotels is that they provide a good place to sleep at night, the rest of the time being spent away from the resort doing things. In that regard I found the bed (and pillow) to be very comfortable, and I slept marvelously. Pillow style is very important to me, and a feather pillow that does not support my head is of no use for me. These pillows were firm and were perfect. Also the bed linens, as well as the room, were very clean. NO STAINS, NO BUGS, unlike some other reviews

The staff, from maintenance, housekeeping, restaurant and front desk, were all VERY friendly. Everyone goes out of their way to say hello and make sure that you have what you need. The continental-style tropical breakfast is okay and there is plenty to eat. If you are looking for 5-star cuisine, go to a 5-star restaurant. The hotel is located directly on the beach, with kayaks and snorkeling equipment available, and chairs, umbrellas and lounges right on the sand. It is very cool to just walk across the lagoon in waist deep water to other motus (islands).

“Beachfront relaxation”

The little island nation of Cook Islands relies almost entirely on tourism for its income and properties like Muri Beach Club Hotel are typical of the low impact, smaller family-owned resorts. With just 30 rooms, it doesn't get ridiculously busy like the larger ones, even when you consider this is an 18yo+ resort and most times the place is full. I enquired about children, and was told that is only available for functions where a single party books the entire property - like a wedding.
I stayed for few nights in a beachfront room at a quieter time (Dec) so had the place almost to myself.
Meals are good and I particularly recommend the hamburger for a local twist on an old favourite recipe. Fish is always a good local choice and red meat comes in from New Zealand as does most of the house wines. I tested the chef and he came through every time. Breakfasts are pretty basic, but the fruits are delicious. Ask for a coffee from the bar. My only comment is the same one I have for even the best restaurants and that is: Please serve hot meals on hot plates.
Service levels throughout the Pacific can vary considerably and I'm pleased to say that MBCH did not let me down. Just remember you're not staying at a big city, brand name hotel and the staff are encouraging you to relax with their own laid-back style, so play along and don't get stressed if things don't arrive when you snap your fingers.
My room (deluxe beachfront) was a decent size and opened out onto a small private lawn courtyard which fronted the beach, so it was easy to just grab you towel and hit the beach. The beach is part of the lovely Muri lagoon, so the crashing waves are off in the distance slightly and won't keep you awake at night.
Your room rate includes breakfast and use of basic watercraft like kayaks and snorkels.
When booking remember the rate is for two adults and some rooms will permit up to four. Full rack rate is a bit pricey, so plan your travel in off-peak or shoulder where possible. Your favourite booking site will offer special rates occasionally.
For a bit of variety and enrichment, you must take the Te Vara Nui Village tour and dinner show (right next door).

Room Tip: For the full experience, get a beachfront room. If you have a larger party, the Premier Garden Room...

“Good stay, nice location, helpful caring staff.”

My wife and I went here for our honeymoon and were very pleased. We got an upgrade to a 'deluxe beachfront room' which had great views of the beach, but seriously any room would be good I think - only a brief few steps and your're on the beach.
Included in your room is the tropical breakfast which is good. I found the staff helpful (esp Kitty!) and quite lovely.
Would definitley recommend it as a nice place to stay. Did get a bit windy at times (this was late Nov) but generally alright.
Tip - Recommend hiring a scooter from reception for only $20-$25 a day. A temporary license for $5 will see you through to midday the next day or go into town to get a full license for $20.
Tip2 - Bring some of your own snacks and food as those sorts of things will cost you dearly anywhere on the island. It is really expensive for food in general and restaurants are western price

Room Tip: All rooms seem nice to us - but obviously a pool or beachfront view will appeal more to most.

“Sterile”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

This is a decent hotel that is located right on Muri Beach. The rooms are quite spacious and quite well appointed. Unfortunately however our 'garden room' over looked a large out side chess board and a parking lot. There is a very nice pool with lots of lounges. The property is however very modern and quite sterile. It simply does not look like a south sea island hotel as do most of the other properties in the area. The breakfasts were OK but nothing special and there are better dining options close by. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. Renting a scooter is definitely recommended as the hotel is quite a distance from Roratonga.
