“Holiday in paridise”

Had a fabulous time here in Pacific resort. Spent 7 nights here, not a lot to do in Rarotonga itself, but the resort had enough to occupy us. Woke and swam in the pool every morning (its fresh water and big enough for a fairly decent swim). The lagoon itself has a few tropical fish that you do have to snorkel out to with a high tide to see. There are sea slugs but they are harmless. The room itself was lovely has air conditioning everything you need to feel comfy, huge beds! Staff were chatty and accommodating, happy hours at the bar are great value. The restaurant is expensive, so we never ate there, far better food down the beach and at the local burger bar. We loved it here, relaxed and wonderful atmosphere. I really wanted to windsurf when I was there but it was never windy enough!

“Beautiful Tropical Wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

My husband and I recently got married on the Motu with Pacific Resort Rarotonga. We wanted a small but intimate affair. The resort staff were great and accomodated us in every way possible . Right from day one...we asked for quite a few last minute things and they provided with outstanding results. We are looking forward to our one year anniversary when we will return.

Room Tip: the villas are perfect as are their 2bedroom standard family rooms if traveling with a few people

“Lovely setting but not 4 stars”

The staff were awesome as are all Rarotongans (except the drivers of the buses awful and rude). The rooms are a bit average (ours had no tv and brown water the first day) and dated.
I didn't mind the cost of the package but they stung you on the food and drinks. Most of the tourist attractions on the island are cheesy and expensive. Get a scooter, snorkel, and meet the people thats where the fun is to be had!! But best of all: Right beside the hotel there is a little house that doubles as an Italian restaurant. BEST MEAL I HAVE EVER HAD. The Italian couple that serve as chef and waitress make you beleive you are in Italy. The atmosphere the food the genuine simplicity made it extraordinary.

“Overpriced, dated rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

It's just too expensive for what you get. The lagoon isn't too bad, the room was ok. But for the price we paid I expect a true 4 star resort. This was 3 or maybe 3.5 stars at best.

A big issue (not specific to this hotel) is the flight schedule. It's really a shame paying so much money, just to get up in the middle of the night to catch your flight. We did use the late check out (which was expensive enough) to keep our room until 6 pm. After that we had dinner and a few drinks, but still had to sit around for a long time until it was time to get to the airport.

One last hint: Keep some NZD when checking out at the hotel. There is a fee you have to pay at the airport. They take credit cards, but they do cash withdrawals on it causing horrendous fees!

“Granny, daughter & 2 grandchildren”

Kiaorana - we had a fabulous stay in Rarotonga; first time travelling for grand-children, much deserved break for mother/daughter teachers. The Staff were courteous and helpful, the room was absolutely fine (loved the old dark wooden furniture and beams), the food and hospitality were spot-on and the weather was fantastic. The beach hut activities for the grand-children (11 & 7) were exciting and fun; thank you beach hut boys for being so cheerful, child-friendly and trust-worthy. The Lagoon Cruise and Cultural evening we attended were fantastic and our trip could be summed-up in one word - "sublime". We gigled and laughed when we discovered a resident 'moko' in our room, thrilled at scooter-ing around the island for a day, enjoyed exploring on foot the immediate environment and really loved shopping and talking to the very gracious locals. My grand-daughter wants to come back in 6 years 5 months to celebrate her 18th birthday and be allowed to buy a cocktail - anything with coconut in it. We will return; we didn't want to come home. Thank you to the Staff for the cleanliness, keeping beautiful gardens, being friendly and helpful but unobtrusive - and smiling - simple manners, courtesy and friendliness are so important and I thank you all sincerely for making our stay so welcoming and memorable. First time visit, but definitely not the last. Highly recommend.
