We stayed for 8 nights over Christmas this year. We had to move to another type of unit for the last 3 nights so this review covers the 2 bedroom unit (first 5 nights) and the larger studio unit (last 3). The 2 bedroom was much better for our family of 2 adults and 3 kids. Our oldest boy was set up in the living area on a roll away while the younger 2 had a bed each in one bedroom and we had a double bed in a room of our own. This rated a 5/5 and was much better than the studio where we all shared the same space (bunks, a double and a single) and had little room to breath. The position of the 2 bedroom was better too being closer to the beach, pool and the bar. The studio was as far away from the beach as you could get and further away from the pool and bar even though it's called a poolside unit - hence 3/5.
The service was pretty good but being over Christmas reception hours were few and far between. A few grumpy moments (due to staff not really wanting to be there) but overall 4/5.
The food was mostly average although the toasted sandwiches (grilled) were really good.
The resorts are forced by law to offer food service over the statutory holidays (this year 25th, 26th and 27th) as all restaurants are closed. Unfortunately it wasn't that good - 2/5.
The beach is quite nice for a walk but not so great for swimming. Lots of coral and rocks limit what can be done. Kayaks are available but hard to get out into the lagoon - reef shoes are a must. Once out in the lagoon snorkeling (using the resort's equipment) is fun and easy but watch out for coral; brushing against it can cut and infections can result.
Over all 4/5. Next time we will probably try out another resort.
