Although the hotel is unremarkable from outside and the decor is plain inside, the room was functional, very clean and well appointed. Parking is excellent, outside the back of the hotel. The welcoming and efficient receptionist who also doubled as a waitress could not have been more helpful.Dinner was superb value and really well cooked: the chef clearly took pride in his/her work. Likewise breakfast was plentiful in terms of the range of fresh fruit, croissants and cheeses.
St Amand Montrond is an extremely interesting old town and is well-worth a visit in its own right - the church, Roman remains and medieval streets are fascinating.
Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back -the rooms on the front face the town square which could be noisy
