“You definately dont feel like in India”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 March 2011

A well kept and very well served property from MPTDC. We were looking for an escape from the city rush and zeroed in on this property. It was a nice experience to stay there. The staff was very helpful and ready to serve what so ever your need be. The Manager offered us services we cant even think of from a State run property. Just for an example, I am a workaholic, although were on a holiday but had to be connected through Internet, so i brought with my self My 3g device, sadly 3g is supported only in the city and the resort being somewhat on the outskirts of the city could not run that faster. I discovered that they have a bb connection, so requested them to access it and was offered an unconditional access. I worked for full one hour on jet speed and was relived to send crucial reports on time. Thanks to the kind heart and very courteous manager. Ex.2: On the eve of 31st the resort arranged a small party(grand to there scale, provided in a place like shivpuri, we thought this is going to be a public procession) so after initially giving our concept for the party we backed out and asked the manager to pls make the arrangements for us outside our rooms only.. Even after the shortage of staff we were given one person till 12.30 in night to attend us. Next morning the manager polity asked us.. Sir' why didn't you came in the function( actually he called us to join in the fun programes that were being carried out on 31st night but we wanted to have our own time) we thanked him for his invitation and told that we wanted to spend time with family. This attitude and generous behavior again took us by surprise. Ex.3: We checked out at around 12 noon and went for jungle safari, which lasted for 4-5 hours. Our train was to depart at 10 in night so we came back to hotel for some tea & refreshments. After having our dinner there we still had 3 hours in hand and stayed in lobby with our children playing in the garden. The manager while passing by came to us and offered us a room in case ladies and children wanted to make themselves comfortable. I tell you.. i have stayed at many places and most of them 4-5stars.. but have never experienced such a wonderful care. Honestly.. I was bowled out and appreciated the person for his best practice. Guys.. if you are looking for some good time with personal attention and quite scenic wild beauty of nature... this place is for you.

“Decent stay at the best price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 February 2011

To my surprise, this MPTDC hotel was very clean and even had a swimming pool. Usually I have not had the best experience in government hotels. But this is undoubtedly ,he best hotel in Shivpuri and was the only good choice to halt overnight on the way to Gwalior from Indore...

Very clean and nice hotel... And a room was only Rs. 1200... Definitely a steal...

this place is amazing...its in my hometown so i strongly recommend this place... i have been to this place for food also nice food and also best in the city....outside your room yu can see the sailing club of Shivpuri and the view is really amazing.

Shivpuri used to be the summer capital of Scindhiya's because of which there are many historic monuments in shivpuri.

This hotel is near to MAdhav national park also.

nice place or i can say best place to live in the entire town.

“Lovely property.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2010

This is a property owned by the MP Tourism department. Located near Bhadaiya Kund in Shivpuri, it is a sprawling property comprising the main reception & dining area and cottages spread over a vast stretch.
Location is a little tricky. We arrived late at night well after sunset and few people seemed to know where the property was - until we mentioned "Bhadaiya Kund". The Kund is a lot better known and the property is located bang opposite - useful to remember when asking for directions,
As stated, we arrived rather late and the dining hall was shut. Yet, the staff at the reception offered us some hot soup (much appreciated).
The cottage was really quaint and quite lovely. The lawns outside are ideal for gazing at the stars in the pollution free evening of Shivpuri.
Staff was good. Food reasonable too.
A visit to the famous Chhatris is a must. Also visit Orchha on a day trip from here.

“Wonderful Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2010

I was always promted to visit places in Madhya Pradesh and I could manage one in the month of August. We planned to go to Shivpuri (as I am an ardent nature lover and this place offers natural beauty). another reason to select this place was Time- it is close to Delhi. We planned our stay in Tourist Village - a hotel run by M.P.Tourism. Though I am not very fond of hotels run by Government, as I do not have good experience of the same, but i was given confidence that I will have a different experience here, and I am going to share that experience here.

I was taken by surprise as we entered the hotel and walked towards the reception. The cleaniness was wonderful and the hospitality of the staff even better. The rooms were clean and properly managed. The lawn area behind the hotel was wonderfully managed as well. The hotel had recreation centre with Pool Table and TT table.

The food quality was good.

My experience was wonderful and has changed my views on Government managed hotels. Kudos to the team there and specially to the Manager, who specially took out time to talk tous and take a feedback.

we are even planning another visit to this place and stay at the same hotel.

The place is wonderful and quiet and hotel is good and must visit for nature lovers.
