We had planned a family get together in Shivpuri for New Year (2011) and had booked ourselves in the Tourist Village. Knowing that our group consisted of 20+ people of all age groups, toddlers@10 months to 75 year old adults we were not so sure about how the experience would be especially since this is not a private property. However having spent 5 days at the hotel I can confidently recommend it to anybody planning to visit Shivpuri. The Manager Mr Vipin Katare is extremely customer oriented and it was really his zeal that made the holiday memorable.
The resort has options for boating (the lake has crocodiles as well which was a major plus), play areas for kids of all ages, and adventure activities suitable for both kids and adults. The rooms are spacious and well furnished.
The staff is quite helpful and enthusiastic and try to fulfill all your requests. We had a birthday celebration on 1st Jan and Mr Katare helped us organize a cake for the child at very short notice.
The one thing that can be improved is room service efficiency. On multiple occassions we simply did not receive the stuff we had ordered (even water in one instance!).
My family is now planning our next get together in MP once again simply because of this wonderful experience in Shivpuri. Hopefully Jabalpur and Kanha will be just as much fun!

Though the hotel is a govt hotel and you always remain apprehensive but the motel is very good. In middle of nature and full of beauty. It can be a relaxing place with family also, after a hard working day, the place is rejuvenating and excellent

The hotel is located little far from city centre. The room were not clean and in the night differet kind of insects were roaming around. The food quality was also average. The room service was also not good.
