This is my first time at Knowsley and it is unlikely I would stay at this location again. First, the location of the hotel is on an industrial estate and simply doesn't feel safe. I was reluctant to park my car in the more remote part of the car park, as the whole area doesn't feel secure. On entering the hotel, there was no acknowledgement of my priorityclub status... no freebie for platinum, and the cost of the wifi was ridiculous. The service was functional but not particularly friendly. The breakfast the following morning was poor. The hot food had been under the lights too long, sausages were wrinkled and hard, the eggs inedible and the beans had formed a skin. Thin bread for toasting, with only 3 slices left at 9.00am. The room was fine, and the standard Holiday Inn Express product is offered, but there was little sense that they valued the customer and some things were just sloppy. In the morning, I saw a guest order a diet coke. He was given a mini bottle of pepsi and had to ask for a glass. Nothing major but sloppy.
