Great house, wonderful people, yummy food, excellent location and unforgettable memories is what our stay at Kolavara was like. I and my family enjoyed every bit of the trip. i am surely going back to Kolavara again.

The Kolavara Heritage Homestay at Thirthahalli ,Shimoga was a wonderful experience for me and my entire family. The acres of plantation of arecanut , coconut , pepper , coffee , cardamom and some fruits and vegetables took us back to nature . The delicious food made by the family members in traditional Malnad style & the mouth- watering sweets tasted out of the world. For rest of the time, we kept ourselves busy by playing indoor games like TT ( Table Tennis ), carrom or just relaxing on the hammock. I wish I could have spend more time on hand to spend there.

A peaceful and relaxing place. Worth visiting. we had a wonderful time there away from our hectic schedule.Host were very kind and hospitable. The food served was really authentic and served with affection.

I need to hand it over to this charming serene homestay nestled among a nice 25 acre farm. It is a package that attracts you to this place - the location, surroundings, peace, lovely hosts and the food prepared by the ladies of the house with affection and care for their guests. We stayed for 2 1/2 days at Kolavara Heritage, which is name for a 100 year old house which has been remodeled with exquisite local charm and a lot of taste. The hosts of this property, Nischal and Vathsalya treated us so nicely that we felt we were staying at a our own place. Their elderly parents, Mr. Murthy and Mrs. Kala joined in pampering us and followed us to the campfire in the night. We were taken to a nice 8-km trekking stretch in front of their house that led us to a majestic scenary of the western ghats from the top of the hill. Mr. Murthy, at the age of 75+ was kind enough to personally take us to their private "mini waterfall" where we spent quite some time. With a visit to Agumbe, Kundadri, Kuppalli and Thirthahalli in a van arranged by Nischal, the treat was complete. When we got dropped back at Thirthahalli to head back to Bangalore, my brother's family and us were reluctant passengers who wished to stay back at Kolavara for a long time.

This homestay was a real treat in all aspects and we strongly recommend a visit.
