“Very comfortable”

Low Urpeth was a lovely place to stay. It was very comfortable. The breakfast is really fantastic - so much delicious food. My only disappointment was the location. It wasn't as rural as a thought it would be, it is quite exposed and not tucked away in a nice country town. The view out of our window was of a large green shed and a bit of Newcaste in the distance. But having said that, the other positives more than made up for the setting.

“Deep snow and freezing outside but warmest welcome, brilliant.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2010

Picked Low Urpeth as very close to Beamish Museum. Best choice we could have made. Lovely and convenient location, views across countryside with Angel of the North in distance. Temperature outside may have been minus nine at times but didn't stop accommodation being warm and comfortable. As was the welcome from Hilary and Peter. Breakfast was an experience not to be missed with every choice you could want although we stuck to the full Low Urpeth breakfast. Some guests had cancelled due to the appalling weather they don't know what they missed. Personally I'd drive through a blizzard for another of Hilary's breakfasts.

“A working farm with so much character - but so relaxing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2010

We selected Low Urpeth Farm because of its good reviews and proximity to The Beamish Museum. We were certainly not disappointed. Our room was lovely with good shower facilities. Hilary and Peter were wonderful hosts - very warm and welcoming. Their great local dining-out tips were very helpful and breakfast the next morning in the dining room was out of this world! Together with our fellow guests, we all sat around the enormous, beautifully laid table in the dining room and enjoyed the most sumptuous breakfast. Many thanks for making our stay so memorable.

“Ideal base for exploring the North-East”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2010

Very friendly owners, comfortable, clean rooms, absolutely first class breakfast with home-made bread and local produce, free wi-fi connection. Location close to Beamish, Durham, Newcastle etc. yet quiet and relaxing. Highly recommended

“Great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

Great hotel, really friendly service and fantastic breakfasts! Being part of a working farm gives the place real character and the rooms have everything you need with very comfy beds. Would definitely go back.
