My family and I recently visited Monterrey and stayed at the marvelous Quinta Real. Let me say something before I review: I have been to Monterrey countless times since I have family here, but Quinta Real has got to be the BEST hotel I've stayed at here.
From the moment I pulled up to this beautiful, vintage hotel, I got the impression of everything luxury and beauty. I stepped into the lobby. It blew my mind. Graceful dancers frozen in statues lined the colossal stone columns. Lush, evergreen plants like palms covered the sides of the grand, wide marble staircases leading down the hall. The strong, polite bellhop took our bags and carried them off to our room while we checked in. The person at the front desk was very kind and gracious, and offered different rooms if we didn't like the assigned one. In front of a small, comfy lounge with golden couches and velvet pillows are the elevators, which are in quite good condition.
Our room was at the 3rd floor, which is convenient time-wise, but while we stayed, there was a wedding reception going on outside, so it was a bit noisy for an hour or so, but otherwise perfect in every way. We arrived as the bellhop stacked our bags neatly inside the room. Oh, and the room? It was AWESOME. We stayed in room 318, if you want to ask for that one, as I can definitely recommend it for a family of four or so. Elegant, vintage, and simply convenient. Marvelous. You enter, and to your right is a spotlessly clean bathroom, which is colossal and grand. There's a nice and big shower with much more than enough room to wash properly. As for the Jacuzzi? Yeah, there's a huge Jacuzzi, with the world's warmest, most comfortable bubbles. There's even a pitted space to rest your head on. For when there are multiple people in there, the toilet (complete with telephone) is hidden inside a cubicle in the corner. There's a convenient bench in front of a separate mirror to do your hair or something, and the counter bearing the sink is nice and spacious. Free shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hand sanitizer, and even a shaving thing-a-majig. (I'm not kidding!) OK, as for the rest of the room......unbelievable. There are 2 queen size beds with extremely elegant gold head posts reaching up to the ceiling. Beds are very comfortable and spacious. I slept in one bed with my mom and my baby sister. No one woke up even once in the night, it was that comfortable. The TV is pretty great with all the best channels. (in Spanish) To the side is a big desk and chair with a huge lamp. There's a mini living room beside the window with a bouncy couch and fluffy pillows, along with a small glass table to rest your drinks on. The window has a good view, and you can open it to enjoy the fresh air.
After a night of good sleep, my mother ordered breakfast Room-Service. The breakfast was pretty good, but save yourself some money and go eat delicious breakfast much cheaper at a better value across the street at Sanborns. Mom: Fruit Parfait + Coffee. Brother: Hot Cakes + Sprite. Me: Hot Cakes + Hot Chocolate. Price: $40 in American dollars. That price is exorbitant, and the food isn't all THAT awesome. It's pretty good, anyway. I guess they charge that much since it's Room Service.
I didn't eat at any of the hotel restaurants, so no review here. I didn't visit the gym or spa or stuff like that. However, I did go to the pool.
I went swimming at the indoor hotel pool. Well, it's kind of indoor and outdoor, since you have to step outside and follow a path to get to a mammothly colossal glass covered area the size of a ballroom. You should go at around 8 or 9 since it's COMPLETELY alone and peaceful at that hour. The pool is huge, and for your kids who can't swim, it's pretty shallow, about 4 feet. There are beautiful, towering fountains spewing water, and it feels great to let it fall on your face. Towards the side of the pool, there are 3 small, circle-shaped areas surrounded by individual tiled stools. In the middle is a low, fat cylinder that, just above the surface of the water, is a tiny, burbling, bouncing fountain. Inside the cylinder is a bright light that makes it seem like a campfire, encompassed by happy faces. The entire pool area is surrounded by green plants. Outside the pool is a bar for you adults, I didn't visit this since I'm eleven. (duh) The pool, in general, is great.
Check-out was fast and easy. The clerk at Front Desk was helpful and had us checked out and ready to go in literally a minute. The bellhops loaded luggage into the trunk quickly, and soon, my family was rumbling down the highway.
As for the bill...It was WONDERFUL! Despite the costly breakfast, it was much less than we expected it to be. It's simply awesome, and it worked out pretty well.
In essence, the Quinta Real Hotel of Monterrey is fantastic. Superb, attentive staff. Luxurious, elegant rooms. Super fun pool. Beautifully non-expensive bill. You just have the time of your life. Everything about the Quinta Real just rocks my mind. I'm definitely coming back! Remember, if you ever visit Monterrey, make sure that YOU are a guest at the Quinta Real, because if you are....well, get ready for the ride!!! Thnx so much for reading my review, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask me! Hope you have your own adventure here at the Quinta Real!

P.S. Ask for room 318 on the 3rd floor. It rocks!
P.P.S. The hotel even offered a fold-able crib for my baby sister! Isn't that great?!
Room Tip: Ask for room 318, where we stayed. It worked for us: 2 adults, 2 kids, 1 baby.
