“The Ultimate Family Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

To cut a very long story short...This hotel is the ultimate family getaway.

Short walk to the beach, several pools to choose from at the Grand Mercure and a short walk to the Novotel for a change of scenery, well-appointed apartments with plenty of room for everyone to spread out, fantastic kitchen with great cooking facilities, great golf course nearby, great pub nearby and most of the sunshine coasts major attractions within a 20 min drive.

A wonderful place to stay that the family & your self for that matter will not want to leave.

“our third stay at twin waters”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

we are the third time staying at this wonderfull disigned and located apartments at twin water.
first time we had an apartment at the same buildings as the mercure ones but rented out by a amother agent.that was realy super furnished and kept up to date it has been in2009.
again in 2009 we had a second time such an apartment same building bud handeled by mercure that was ok but already a step lower this year again we rented one from mercure and one could realy see that this projekt is runing down fast and steadily.same super nice building and super location but inside all a bit worn down,to say it moderate, broken furniture, dirty floors, lamps which are not working and so on.so all in all one can see it is handeld purly and not realy looked after.the general premisse is as it has been in perfect kondition and verry well kept but not apartments .
also talking to the ofice at mercure you received a proffesional feedback but one could feel that it is not from heart and the feeling is they do not care so much and they are not behind there product
we will rent there again but will try to find something not managed by mercure

however we stil enjoied it very much since the architekture and the location is unbeatable

Dear Reviewer and Prospective Guests,
Thank you for this review and for the opportunity to respond. It is pleasing to hear that our reviewer has enjoyed our property sufficiently to have returned three times.
I am very disappointed to hear that elements of this particular apartment on this occasion have not been up to standard and I apologise for these shortcomings.
We take great pride in the standard of cleaning and presentation of our apartments and houses and will be reviewing these comments with our housekeeping and maintenance teams. It is unfortunate that we were not given the opportunity to address these concerns during our reviewer’s six night stay.
Grand Mercure Apartments Twin Waters offers over 80 properties within the North Shore Village including 2 and 3 bedroom apartments and 3 and 4 bedroom beach houses. Our guests enjoy fully self-contained accommodation with the convenience of access to Novotel Twin Waters Resort which offers an array of leisure facilities, bars and dining options.
We look forward to welcoming you to Grand Mercure Apartments Twin Waters.
Kind regards,
Ash Turner

“Great for the family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We just stayed for 1 week at the Grand Mercure Twin Waters. The 2 bedroom apartment was lovely with a fantastic view over the lagoon and Novotel Twin Waters Resort. It's worth requesting a lagoon view (you pay more though). We were on the second floor and had a large balcony which was great for sitting out on, having breakfast and BBQs (if you want a BBQ make sure you request it as some apartments don't have them apparently). The apartment was quite stunning. I think all the apartments are decorated differently so you need to request a newer one - that's what I did and the apartment was better than expected.

The water facilities at Novotel were fun - catamarans, kayaks, windsurfers, water trampoline. The lagoon was actually quite nice (I'm not normally into lagoons!) with lots of fish and not many mozzies (in fact in the entire week we only saw one mozzie). The beach at Mudjimba was nice though quite open. The water was lovely though.

I really thought they'd done a good job with the landscaping around the resort. The overall effect of the lagoon and surrounds in the resort is really quite picturesque.

A highlight for our teenagers was the segways which they loved! It is expensive (we paid $65 each) but worth it.

We didn't really need any "service" from the reception except we couldn't find a chopping board. They found one for us in no time.

The bed was really comfy so sleeps were good! The bedrooms have flyscreens so windows can be opened at night and the breeze comes through. The airconditioners from other units were noisy for the second bedroom but not for the main bedroom.

The only negative comment I'd have is the cleaners could do a bit of a better job (eg outside balcony was a bit sandy when we arrived, some kitchen and cupboard drawers a bit grubby, lamps a bit dusty, lounges a bit smelly) but I'm very fussy about cleanliness.

Overall a lovely resort with lots to do and lovely apartments. Great for families with young or older children.

Room Tip: Request a lagoon view.
