We just stayed for 1 week at the Grand Mercure Twin Waters. The 2 bedroom apartment was lovely with a fantastic view over the lagoon and Novotel Twin Waters Resort. It's worth requesting a lagoon view (you pay more though). We were on the second floor and had a large balcony which was great for sitting out on, having breakfast and BBQs (if you want a BBQ make sure you request it as some apartments don't have them apparently). The apartment was quite stunning. I think all the apartments are decorated differently so you need to request a newer one - that's what I did and the apartment was better than expected.
The water facilities at Novotel were fun - catamarans, kayaks, windsurfers, water trampoline. The lagoon was actually quite nice (I'm not normally into lagoons!) with lots of fish and not many mozzies (in fact in the entire week we only saw one mozzie). The beach at Mudjimba was nice though quite open. The water was lovely though.
I really thought they'd done a good job with the landscaping around the resort. The overall effect of the lagoon and surrounds in the resort is really quite picturesque.
A highlight for our teenagers was the segways which they loved! It is expensive (we paid $65 each) but worth it.
We didn't really need any "service" from the reception except we couldn't find a chopping board. They found one for us in no time.
The bed was really comfy so sleeps were good! The bedrooms have flyscreens so windows can be opened at night and the breeze comes through. The airconditioners from other units were noisy for the second bedroom but not for the main bedroom.
The only negative comment I'd have is the cleaners could do a bit of a better job (eg outside balcony was a bit sandy when we arrived, some kitchen and cupboard drawers a bit grubby, lamps a bit dusty, lounges a bit smelly) but I'm very fussy about cleanliness.
Overall a lovely resort with lots to do and lovely apartments. Great for families with young or older children.
Room Tip: Request a lagoon view.
