I, along with my entire team of 50-odd people, were planning a 2-day business offsite to a place within 300kms of Delhi; the idea being that we all wanted to go by train. After much thought and deliberation, we zeroed in on Timber Trail Heights in Parwanoo, Himachal Pradesh. And man! did we make the right choice?
The excitement was palpable from the moment we all met at the railway station, aboard the Chandigarh Shatabdi; and it continued all the way to the resort, only to heighten when we saw what was coming our way. Okay, for all you curious readers, the resort is situated on a hill, and is accessible only by way of a cable car. So, the deal is, you park your car at the reception area, and wait for the cable car to take you up to the resort. It's an extremely steep climb, offering a panoramic view of the horizon and of Parwanoo town. The view is just amazing. The fun & excitement just never stops at the Timber Trail Heights resort... The hotel offers ample routes for trekking, and activities like Lawn Tennis, Golf, Skateboarding, amongst many other team building activities.
The resort is tucked in between the dense forests of Himachal, and it can get EXTREMELY COLD in the night, esp. during winters. Do be mindful to carry enough warm clothing with you; the rest is all provided by the hotel. The rooms are centrally heated/cooled, and come with attached balconies that offer a superb view of the Himachal valley and of Parwanoo town. The rooms are neat and clean, however be prepared to access several flights of steps and up-hill climbs to access the rooms, the restaurants, the various activities, et al. All this because the resort is built on a hill, hence the topography is such... All in all, it was an amazing 2-day stay we had, where we enjoyed a perfect blend of business with pleasure. I would highly recommend this adventure to people who love a little adventure, along with their business needs. It's an extremely adventurous experience, offering a mind-refreshing change from the hullabaloo of Delhi.
Room Tip: carry enough warm clothes, as it tends to get extremely cold in the evenings.
