I stayed at Villa Ducci for four nights this August and I would really recommend it to all travellers who look for a quiet place to stay near Cinque Terre and the charming towns of the Italian Riviera!
The Villa is located in the hills above La Spezia which make the location a perfect starting point to discover the coast between Genua and La Spezia and also to make trips to the Tuscany (eg. Lucca). To go to La Spezia you definitly need a car, but from there you can take the train or boat to the places to see.
The Villa itself is an old mansion which was renovated and has fours rooms and an apartment to let. We stayed in the red room which was very spacious and clean. Beside the private rooms there is also a big living room to relax and have a look at the books about the region. Breakfast was served at a terrace with a nice view. Also free private parking was available.
Most unexpected was the hospitality of the Villa's owner Giacomo. His very helpful suggestions and tipps made our stay very convienent - it was like visiting a friend! With his help for planning we had perfect days with trips to Portovenere, Cinque Terre, Portofino, Camogli, Lerici,...
All in all it was a perfect place to stay, defintitly the best B&B of our tour (we also stayed in Florence, Bologna, Bellagio, Peschiera) and I hope to come back some time.
