My husband, father and I stayed 3 nights in this charming place. It's tucked away about a 15 minute drive from Bordeaux. I felt like we were staying at a relative's chateau in the country. It is small and cozy, filled with interesting antiques. We especially loved the wood stove and the book case in the foyer. We had breakfast included every morning served by the male owner - breakfast filled us up, although it was simple - croissants, jelly, butter and orange juice. The male owner was very accomodating and pleasant, does not speak english, although that didn't bother us. It just added to the charm. He even helped us put together a wine and cheese picnic on the beautiful grounds. There are many peacocks on the property that ruffle their feathers and cry out - this too added a rustic touch to our experience. We had a 2 bedroom suite with our own spacious bathroom - plenty of room for 3 people. And very clean. The furniture in the rooms is plain and dated - but to us, that added to the charm. It's like you're staying at your old fashioned grandparent's house. Outside our room, there were even pictures of the family. If you would like an authentic, quiet, romantic, out of the way experience, this chateau is the place for you, not to mention it is the least expensive chateau in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - well worth the price.
