windows painted shut. no shower. 3 inch gap under fire door in room. old decor.only clean bed saved me from breakdown

This B&B is excellently located to the Gleneagles golf course. The staff are friendly and the food was excellent. Our room was very large but showing signs of wear.

We dicided quite last minute to eat out and visited the Blackford Hotel. We couldn't fault the food (the menu offered a great selection of items on each course and not the typical 'pub food' .... a pleasant surprise). It was presented well and tasted even better! The service was efficient, friendly and always with a smile.

After our meal we chose to go to the public bar for a few drinks. We were made very welcome by the locals and even enjoyed a game of pool.

The only down side was that the Hotel was fully booked and we could not extend the experience to include an overnight!!!

We will definaltley return and are considering Hogmanay in Blackford with some friends!!

We only dined here and would NOT recommend the food. My wife and 2 kids had a good meal as did my friend's partner. Both my friend and I ordered the Tagliatelle Carbonara as a treat......

When it came it was cold and the pasta was not cooked. It came with garlic bread of which I tried a piece. I tried to muster through but when the pasta started to crunch it gave a whole new meaning to AL DENTE.

We made the staff know who promptly took our plates away and returned some 10 minutes later.

I assumed they'd have time to make a fresh batch of pasta and new sauce and also freshen the plates, but they took the lazy option....microwave.......

They even mentioned that one of us had eaten half of our garlic bread.....so poor......

They had a chance to redeem themselves but didn't.........

Needless to say we didn't tip them and would not darken their door again.

Summing up, the area is well presented, staff initially appear helpful but the service was abmissmal and they didn't even acknowledge the fact my friend and I had to wait an extra 10 minutes. No discount was offered.
