“Fantastic place to stay”

We stayed on 6th & 7th Jan 2012 and were sorry to leave. Lovely spacious rooms with a great view overlooking the countryside. The food was excellent and plentiful with staff that could not do enough for you. Dholes Den is a nature lovers paradise with plenty of opportunity for nature walks and Bird Spotting expeditions accompanied by their own naturalist in addition to any booked jeep safari's into the Bandipur reserve. Evenings consist of sitting around the campfire and sharing stories - brilliant! For anyone who loves nature and the outdoors this is the place to stay - fabulous host and staff can't wait to visit again on our next trip to India.

Room Tip: All the rooms are simliar with the same view

“Great couple of days at Dhole's Den”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Our stay at Dhole's Den was fantatsic. It was luxury in the middle of the forest. The rooms were very clean, food was yummy and staff were courteous and went to great lenghts to make us comfortable. I was in awe of the architecture and the interior designing.
Mr. Sunkata Roy was a fantastic host who was always there when we needed him and his knowledge of wildlife was very impressive.

Plus it is a luck place to stay. I have roamed the forests of South India for the last 3 decades and for the first time we were lucky to spot a tiger. We also spotted 2 leopards on the same ride.

“Should not complain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

I with my fmaily visited this place on the 30th and 31st of december 2011 for the new year . The place is absolutely fantastic and has a breathtaking view . something to feast your eyes on . The place is surrounded by nature and is great for walking around . We did a lot of walking when possible as most of 31st it rained .
THe team at Dholes den was one of the best that I have encountered and really very friendly and helpful . All of them are from the local village in keeping with the basics of eco tourism . They have been trained well and do their best to make the guests comfortable .
Some people are not used to the outdoor and really cannot hanlde that much. Just putting on a pair of shorts and T shirt with a sneaker does not make one outdoorsy . These people expect the city to travel with them wherever they go and therefore do not enjoy locations like these in the real sense of the word . ( Am unable to write my comments in the ' Problem with this review' section so am writing here )
Food , comfort , energyconservation , naturalists are all top class . I hope people who really like nature and conservation visit this place . do go there if you want peace and quiet along with fresh air and a breath taking view .
Do not go there if you are looking at Gobi Manchurian , Fried rice , and pedas . Or loud music and sit coms on tv in the evening .

Room Tip: go for the cottages . great open air bath out there

“Definitely the best place to stay at Bandipur”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Loved the stay at Dhole's den. Aesthetically done rooms, lovely property, great food and an absolute nature lover's paradise. Make sure you ask for the naturalist to go on your safari to learn a whole lot more about the reserve and the local communities.

Really enjoyed the personalized attention and how everything revolves around giving back to the forest.
Will definitely go back :)

“My stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

I have been visiting & staying at Dhole's Den from last one and half years regularly. I must have stayed there more than 20 times. I surprised to see the comment on the food quality written by Brita 76.
I was also staying in the same day at Dhol'e Den, had the same food. Very frankly, there was no issue with the food at all. Actually, it was very good. We ate the same breakfast on 1st Jan. It was proper breakfast. One had enough choice. Obviously, they have poori with subji and Chatni. Even pickle was available.
I must stay staff (Including the chef and manager) is very courteous and responsive. They put their best effort to make you comfortable.
I highly recommend Dhole's Den.
