I spent 4 night at this Ibis hotel due to all hotels in "nearby" Blumenau being sold out. This is a very basic hotel with minimal amenities. It has an on-site restaurant with a basic food menu. The food itself is ok, but prepared with mostly salt as the spice du jour. The staff is very helpful and speak enough English. Upon check-in we were told not to venture on the streets after hours due to safety concerns. I didn't notice any incidents throughout my stay but we heeded their advice causing us to eat a few nights at the hotel restaurant rather than finding other nearby restaurants. Directly across the street is a McDonalds and a Subway store which we didn't try but looked safe & clean. The hotel has a basement garage and a valet to take your car. Internet access is available in the rooms and lounge area.
The rooms were bare but had the basic amenities. My main complaint was that we arrived in the Brazilian winter season but the heating/ac combo units in the room were not working. I couldn't figure out whether this was a just normal practice or whether something was broken. Either way, the units in ALL the rooms were not providing any heat so we asked for extra blankets. The shower stood out as the best feature in the room. Good pressure and warm water from a ceiling faucet.
Bottom line, this hotel provides basic necessities. The cost was relatively cheap and is good for business travelers not expecting the Hilton or Marriott.
