Just returned last week from having spent 2 weeks at avithos resort,
My first time staying at a trip advisor no 2
And they certainly deserve to be no 1, everything was exceptional
The hotel, the location, the immaculately clean rooms, the gardens and the staff
There is nothing that I could fault, a lot of thought and care has gone in to designing the rooms, gardens etc and the staff are so welcoming,
caring, cheerful and courteous towards you.
I've never had such a welcome anywhere else in my whole life
Every single staff member was excellent at their jobs, and all take pride in what they do. they really do care,
Christina, one of the receptionists was like an angel sent from heaven to me ,she helped me so much with my problems {personal problems, nothing to do with the hotel } she went above & beyond the call of duty with me and such a geniune kind hearted person. I cant thank her enough !
Chief receptionist katerina was also exceptional, any thing you needed she would sort out for you , she's also a “font of all knowledge”,
she certainly knows her job and takes great pleasure in doing it.
We had such a peaceful relaxing holiday, no noise in the mornings or evenings, you could sit outside your room night time and you wouldn't hear a single noise, so quiet, it was perfect.
The pool area was spotless, plenty of empty sun beds , no towel
reserving going on here
My new friend, Nicholas the gardener {bora da, Nicholas} had a big welcoming smile for me every morning. He does an excellent job on the gardens and any mateince work or repairs that need doing. He was there within minutes of us reporting that our fridge had pack in, and within the hour we had a new fridge installed !!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone, they are simply the best, there is nothing they could improve on, well maybe one thing,
I heard rumours from some of the other guest that management are looking in to the idea of having a courtesy bus to take you to the beach or in to argostoli. That certainly, I think would be the icing on the cake for me
The walk up back the hill from the beach, was a nightmare for me, as I have some small walking difficulties
And even though I know that most guests have a hire car, evenings would be much better for dining out, with a courtesy bus. so everyone can enjoy the local wine with their meal, without the fear of drink driving.
Plus on the days we didn't have a car it would have been a dream come true for there to be courtesy bus on hand.
So I pray that avithos resort are really considering it,
it would certainly put them streets ahead of the competition !!this was my first visit to kefalonia and ive fallen in love with it, avithos resort and all the staff !
I hope and pray that we can return to avithos as soon as we can ,

This was our first time at the resort we were staying for 11 nights, the resort was perfect, still in keeping with typical greece accomodation was very clean, spacious, modern, relaxing...we stayed in a superior studio which had a lovely bathroom (probably the best i have ever had in greece!) , large bed, tv/dvd, balcony with lovely views of the hillsides/mountains....breakfast by the pool was very good, the pool area was lovely its a shame we didnt get much use out of it as we were out and about most days! The staff were very friendly & helpful, advising us of some lovely beaches which we would not have found on our own! The resort is in a very quiet location with a lovely beach within a very short drive and a few greek tavernas close by which are all very good!! We got a complimentary hire car when we booked direct with the hotel which came in very handy as there is so much to see and do. I hope to return next year to Avithos with all my family to explore the island of Kefalonia more!

We returned from the Avithos Resort on the 7th Sept - stayed for 1 week, family - 2ad and 2 children, 12 and 9. What a beautiful, relaxing place, quiet, peaceful, gorgeous gardens and amazing pool. We stayed in a spacious maisonette, very clean and a huge double bed, and 2 large balconies. Most of the time we felt like we had a private pool, guests tend to go out exploring the beautiful island during the day. We enjoyed the abundant breakfasts sat beside the pool in the gardens, then took our coffees to the comfy rattan sofa's under the gazebo. I research my holidays thoroughly, I am very particular and can go thru approx 100 hotels till I find the right one. The previous reviews made me book this hotel, they were all spot on - everything was exactly as I imagined. It's not for the party goers, or the night time rowdy set! Our children had a fantastic time, even though the other guests were mainly couples. We were blessed to meet Irene and Brian - serial visitors, what an inspiration, and Brian in his red speedo's at 80!! - If I am living half their life at 80 I'd be very happy - Thankyou for your wonderful stories.

We would love to go back next year, please don't change anything about the Avithos, don't grow or develop or anything! Just get some lovely Greek Music playing around the pool!

The hotel is located in a magnificient landscape, surrounded by wonderful gardens, olive trees and picturesque small villages. It is relatively close to Argostoli (~15'-20' driving), as well as to lots of easily accessed sandy beaches (Avythos, Ai Hellis, Ammes, etc) and nice tavernas in walking distance (5-10'). Hotel architecture is perfectly aligned with the scenery. Special care seems to be taken in gardens, flowers, etc. Rooms are spacious enough, cleaning and breakfast are above average, pool is very nice and hotel owners are friendly and willing to help in any way, room rates can be lower. Pool bar needs to be improved, in terms of spirits, snacks offered variety and service quality. People would find it then a good choice to stay in some nights, instead of visiting Argostoli or Lassi.
