I stayed at this establishment for one night as part of a group tour. Everything most other reviewers say is true. First of all, what seems to have once been the actual hotel is non-operational. The functioning hotel is actually a residence. I think I can qualify it as the worst hotel I have ever been at.
1) It is located in what seems to be a rather run-down residential area, I fo
2) The "reception" area consists of a long, ugly, empty corridor, with faded sofas and full of mosquitoes.
3) Out of 4 elevators, only one seemed to be working. There may have been other elevators somewhere else, not sure.
4) The doors were brown, ugly, and dented.
5) We had what you might call a "suite" with plenty of cupboard space, a microwave oven, and a fridge. This is really because it is, as I have mentioned above, a hotel and residence. But the wallpaper was dirty, torn in parts, and there was a big reddish stain in one part of it - I would have felt sick to eat in there.
6) As we wanted to go out on the balcony, we discovered a huge cobweb clinging to the balcony door hinge, so we gave up going on the balcony at all.
7) No carpet on the floor.
8) There was a species of ants all over the furniture.
9) The furniture seemed quite new, but it was dark and, together with the ugly, striped wallpaper, gave a rather sinister look to the entire room.
10) There was an unpleasant smell all over.
11) The bathroom was fairly clean, although I did notice what I believe was a mosquito in the shower (which I would have ignored, had not everything else been so uninviting)and the toilet had been decontaminated. The towels were big and clean, but there were some holes in them (which again, would have been an unimportant detail but for the other circumstances).
13) The shower is very small, I have a small frame but I wondered how a bigger person would cope. I know this is acceptable for Italy, but I've seen better than this in Italy itself.\
14) I could hear every detail of conversation from the adjacent suite.
15)) We had half board. Dinner was reasonable, and so was breakfast, but we had to use plastic forks for breakfast.
I think you get the picture,
Don't stay there.
