I usually write reviews in the order that things occur, check in, room, breakfast etc, which means that on this occassion we're going to start off on the wrong foot. On the hotel website under arrival information it states you should get the subway to the end of the green line Abbiategrasso and then there is a shuttle bus to the hotel. It also states that there are 30 shuttles a day........not quite true. If you arrive at a weekend, there are only 3 or 4 shuttles a day, we arrived at about 19:30 and waited nearly an hour for the shuttle, but we were probably lucky as the earlier shuttle had left at 15:45!! To complicate things the website also states you can wait in a newly built lounge, which to the best of my exploration simply does not exist, this does however cause you to wander aimlessly for a good 20 minutes trying to figure out if you're in the right place. The transfer takes about 20 minutes
On arrival at the hotel you will notice that this hotel is massive, which means the check-in queue will also probably be massive (It was when we were there).
The room itself was a mini-apartment and was labelled outside as "Executive" however I would suggest otherwise, but it was clean and tidy, it had aircon (more about this shortly) and all the usual bits and bobs apart from a safe. The bathroom was adequate, if a little cramped, and the shower was powerful and warm. The floor on which we were stopping seemed to be occupied by numerous Bangladeshi families and given that these were self catering apartments, the smell of spicy food filled our room.
The aircon requires a remote control, which the room didn't have, so I went to reception who gave me one, I went back to reception when it didn't work and they gave me another, third time they gave me 3 remotes none of which worked and only then did he tell me that i should flick the switch on the balcony?!?!? Anyway, after much switch flipping it still did not work so I insisted on changing rooms, he took me to a room which was not "execuitve" but it turned out to be exactly the same anyway, the aircon didn't work there either so he rang down to his colleague who hadn't enabled it on the PC so eventually went back to our original roomand it was working!!
We ventured out of the hotel on an evening but there really is very little nearby, on our return to the hotel we had to find our way through a gang of around 30 young men who had congregated near one of the entrances, i think they were local and nothing to do with the hotel. My wife was quite intimidated.
In terms of food from the hotel take out pizza was very good, breakfast was tosh and probably not worth bothering with. The rooftop bar/pool apparently exists but we were told it was out of season when we went so who knows?
Overall, I wouldn't stop there again, bit too far away and nothing about it to make it worthwhile travelling for.
