Stayed at this hotel for two weeks in October. Will pretty much agree with the last report. Very nice hotel with nice rooms. Except for the $4.99 plastic toilet seat :-). They have a limited number of rooms with refrigerators.
One thing that can be a problem at the hotel is noise. If you look between the two towers in picture #2 you can see a jet about to land at the airport. Often, on take off and landing, the planes are not far from the hotel (over my left shoulder as I took the picture). I could sometimes even hear them with the ear plugs I use when I sleep in hotels. Also as my room faced the front of the hotel you could often hear the slight squealing of tires from the shuttles and other vehicles. It seems the make up of the pavement in Monterrey causes this effect with little effort from the vehicle. To help the noise problem a bit my suggestion would to be to try and get a room facing the courtyard (rooms with an even number) instead of the outside.
The hotel shuttles will take you to all the major business parks in Apodaca. Although in the busy times in the afternoon if might take 15-20 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. But I was working at the business park farthest from the hotel. The shuttles are available for nearby dining and shopping runs after the business runs slow down.
I was a bit disappointed with breakfast at the hotel. Breakfast was not included in the room cost and ran around $7.50 for an American breakfast. Breakfast was served buffet style and often some of the items were not very warm. A couple of times they had run out of some items. You can have an omelet or waffles made. However when the breakfast crunch hits it can take a while. But if nothing else breakfast is convenient.
The hotels and surrounding restaurants are kind of an island of commerce. You have to go some distance to find other shops and restaurants. There are four good restaurants very near the hotel plus a Carl's Jr. and a Seven Eleven. A 8-10 minute walk up the frontage road towards the airport (or a 1 minute shuttle ride) will bring you to a nice Italian restaurant (last two pictures). Other than that it is a shuttle or cab ride to civilization. We started to feel a little trapped in this area. We made a couple of trips down to the Sierra Madre Brewing Co. (~100 peso cab ride). SMBC has great food with a large menu. They are located next to the Super WalMart and Sam's Club. After dinner you can do some shopping and pick up all that tequila you promised your friends :-).
