“An idyllic place, stunning views & amazing hospitality!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2009

We were not prepared for the beauty of Le Marche region! Casa San Ruffino was the ideal location from which to explore this stunning part of Italy! The rooms were spacious and comfortable, everything you could need had been thought of and provided! The recommendations of places to eat were superb and we ate fantastically well during our trip. Our hosts were warm and welcoming and we are already planning a return trip!!

“A beautiful, hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2009

We stayed at the Casa San Ruffino for our honeymoon. It was a beautiful, peaceful getaway, just what we needed after a hectic few weeks. The views are incredible, over the rolling hills and the fields full of sunflowers. Claire and Ray, the owners were great. They were very welcoming, always happy to recommend places to eat, visit and shop. The only thing that is worth noting is that you do need to drive everywhere, but the drives are definitely worth it, taking you to lovely little villages and amazing restaurants. We had some fantastic food, wine and even went to theopen air opera (not normally our thing but the venue was spectacular). The area is great as it's not full of tourists so you really feel you have got away from it all.

A fantastic place, straight out of grand designs. We'd love to visit again.

“So good we kept coming back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2009

We originally stayed at Casa San Ruffino as part of a house hunting trip to Le Marche some 2 years ago. As demanding customers we approached our first visit with some apprehension that a country house could live up to our expectations. We knew we need not worry fom the first day that the owners, Ray and Claire, met us, cooling drinks at the ready.

This Country house provides everything that will satisfy the needs of a wide range of customers from House hunters such as ourselves, to those merely wishing to take in the beautiful views that this part of Italy has to offer. Casa San Ruffino can boast the most sensational views of flowing hillsides and valleys set against a backdrop of the Sibilinni mountains. If you have the chance to visit in the early spring, you can enjoy sights of the snow covered mountains whilst wearing a teeshirt and sipping a chilled glass of locally produced wine. As other reviewers have stated, this is provided without the significant 'mark up' so frequently encountered.

As hosts, Ray and Claire are keen to provide for your every need, be it advice and directions to some superb local restaurants, provision of wonderful home cooked evening meals or simply sharing their extensive knowledge of renovating a property in Italy.

As with all popular hotels, we have on a couple of occasions had to book an odd night at nearby hotels but this merely served to highlight to us both the quality of the accommodation that Ray and Claire provide, together with the ever friendly reception we have received.

As for recommendation, we have been regular visitors over the last 2 years which we feel speaks for itself.

“A great stay in a beautiful, unspoilt part of Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2009

Casa San Ruffino, Montegiorgio,Le Marche, Italy

We have stayed at this absolutely delightful country house several times and would like to tell you about our experiences.
The location couldn`t be better, a couple of minutes drive outside of the hill top town of Montegiorgio and you drive down a dusty strada bianca to the house. When we first arrived we were met by our friendly hosts Ray and Claire, their two cats and a couple of long cold drinks and we just stood and looked at the view. Absolutely stunning.
Ray and Claire have restored the house beautifuly and our room was just perfect,(there are 2 large rooms and 2 larger rooms/suites.All are finished and furnished to a very high standard) with cool cotto tiles on the floor and wood ceilings and air conditioning! I love my sleep and I have to say that the beds in the rooms are the most comfortable I have ever used. The best sleeps I`ve ever had!
Breakfasts at Casa San Ruffino are delicious with Claires home made bread and cakes and a choice of cereals but the best part was the fruit salads with a choice of yogurts. They were so tasty that I`ve been converted from a morning cereal man to fruit salad topped with yogurt guy. All this is washed down with a selection of fresh juices and as much tea/coffee as you want.
You can while away most of the day by the swimming pool, occasionally cooling off, or if you prefer, take a half hour drive down to the small resort of Porto San Giorgio, swim in the sea, laze on the beach then stay over and eat at one of the many good restaurants in the resort, drive back and sink into that gorgeous bed.
All in all, one of the best places we have stayed in and we have stayed in hotels around Italy which have cost a lot more and have not been as good.
If you want a restful break in a beautiful country house and great service (with a constant smile), it doesn`t get any better than Casa San Ruffino!

“Simply Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 April 2009

We visited Casa San Ruffino as part of a tour of Italy to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. I was pleased to find that the pictures on Casa San Ruffino website are an accurate representation of this wonderful country house. The rooms are large, comfortable and very clean. The views are amazing - the Italy that I had hoped to see. The owners gave us information on local restaurants and took the time to book us tables at a number of great places - some of the best food we have tasted in Italy. We hope to return!
