We enjoyed a week here in September.Our room was on the 2nd floor,at the end.and had the best view yet in this area.Wonderful views over Lake Brienz.The owners were very welcoming and helpful about the area.The restaurant food was excellent ,so was the buffet breakfast.The village has good walks around it and most attractions are within reach by public transport but a car would be best,due to time factor.The lake boat service stops here which takes you to Brienz or Interlaken.

This was a great stay for our family. It is a very peaceful place to stay with great views of the lake. The rooms are a little bit rustic, or "cabin style” and the walls are not very sound resistant. - You will hear your neighbors next to you and above. BUT the location is awesome and the managing family is outstanding and very accommodating. The hotel is about half an hour away from the major attraction of the area (Jungfrau, Grindelwald, Wengen and the tourist traps of Interlaken). The food in the main dining room was excellent but the atmosphere is a bit bare. The breakfast was first class. I would recommend this hotel to any family with kids over 6 years, it might not be ideal for older travelers as there is no elevator. I would recommend staying at least 3 nights. If you have time, rent some bicycles and ride half way around the lake and return by boat.
