Right on the lake with no road or railway line to spoil the view. All the south facing rooms have balconies overlooking the lake. The rooms themselves are fairly basic (more two star than three) and ensuites are small but adequate (note that not all rooms have an ensuite). They are, however, clean and the beds are very comfortable. Staff are very friendly and service level is good, as is the food. Best bet is to take the 'half board' option as this works out much better value - you get a four course meal with choices and vegetarian options. Breakfast is a generous buffet with plenty of choice. Hotel has limited parking but is within 5 minutes walk from rail station and right next to the lake ferry stop.
Overall, this is a really good option for a holiday break as long as you book a south facing room with shower.

A good hotel right on the edge of the lake.
The staff were friendly and efficient even though we arrived 2 hours early.
The room was clean but a bit dated, bed was comfortable and bedding excellent. the shower was ok. the only other facilities were a hairdryer and a radio. nice balcony with lake view. Breakfast was average but also ok.
The hotel bar was nice and the restaurant very good with a guest chef and specialities from India.
The hotel is dog friendly which was the main reason we booked. it is also only a 5 minute walk from the train station. there is also a car park either side of the hotel.
