Our twin room was very spacious, with modern beech furniture and good quality furnishing fabrics, although drawer space was limited. The bathroom was also spacious - full size bath with a powerful shower.
Breakfast was what you'd expect from a good quality establishment - fruit juice, fresh fruit, cereal, and either a continental or cooked option. As an alternative to the tasty and substantial Scottish breakfast there was the Arbroath Smokie, served with a nicely poached egg and bacon. Toast and tea/real coffee, of course.
We enjoyed three meals in the restaurant, which offered quite a wide choice. We did go for the spicier options as we have found that traditional food in some Scottish hotels can be a little bland.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and appeared to enjoy their work.
All of this from a Scottish Tourist Board 3 Star Hotel. A very comfortable place to stay that offers very good value.

The room was ok, but very noisy, the windows was broken and just tape insteand of replacing. It had a party in the hotel, and children plays in the room area, knocking at he door for the fun.

Stayed there for two nights while in the area on business. Having never stayed in the area, relied on other reviews when selecting hotel.

Chose this one becaue of review compared with costs/reviews for other hotels in area - so glad I made this choice.

Arrived Tuesday evening and checked into room very quickly - only problem was that advertised WiFi connection didn't seem to be working - staff tried re-setting router to no avail but quickly moved me to another room covered by a second router - no problems from then on.

Enjoyed great food both in the evening and for breakfast - good choice at evening meal from main menu or daily specials and something there that should please everyone even the pickiest of diners - Breakfasts, the usual choice of cereals, continental style or fully cooked selection, including local speciality 'Arbroath Smokies' - absolutely delicious.

Normally, I have trouble sleeping away from home, especially first night, but as soon as I turned out my light I was away and slept soundly till morning.

Any outside noise had quietened by 11pm and there was no problem after that.

Car park is small for the number of rooms, so it's first come, first served but I didn't have any problems on that score.

Part of a group of 14 St. Johnstone fans, went to the Northern Hotel in Brechin for a meal. The hotel was packed full for meals and yet the service was brilliant, food was excellent also. Thank you Northern Hotel for a great day. Happy Saints fans :)
