This was a hotel that was potentially fairly average, made special by the manner of the service, without exception. I had cause to communicate before our trip as part of a group and was dealt with in a very pleasant & helpful manner on the phone. Once we arrived nothing was too much trouble - we were greeted on arrival with a drink of orange juice, the kitchen opened specially when we asked ahead of arrival if about half our number could eat on a Friday night when it was usually closed. The refurbished first floor had very nice rooms [though I found the pillows unusable - sort of 'blown up' with air that reinflated like balloons below your ear if you tried to flatten them - luckily I'd brough a pillow - my husband made do but was uncomfortable] and nice bathrooms with gratis products (though the water temperature of the shower was fiendishly hard to regulate). Our breakfast was adequate for the groups' all-in tariff. The hotel was very quiet and the rooms' full length curtains were lined with a light block layer - finally people are learning that we don't all sleep well with paper-thin, light coloured curtains - hurrah!!
