“Great resort and great location”

Have just returned from a fantastic week in Les Arcs 2000. Now Chalet des neiges the best way i can describe a apartment block with chalets and apartments in the build.

Now there are many apartments which are privatley owned and ones also owned by travel companies. We booked our holiday with Crystal and chose to stay in the Chalet Monique this chalet is a 2 floor chalet with bedrooms on the ground floor and living and kitchen area on the 2nd floor, the chalet can be located on 2nd floor in chalet des nieges. My overall impressions of the chalet was fantastic it slept 14 and all rooms where clean and tidy and well maintained. Our Chalet hosts Helen and Matt where also friendly and great fun and served fantastic food throughout our stay.

Now Chalet des Nieges also has gym pool sauna and steam room facilities which are great to use after a long day on the slopes.

Now onto the main part the skiing now we where very annixious before we went due to the lack of snowfall the french alps had. Luckily it snowed a lot the week before we went and the 1st day we where there they had 20cm.

The ski conditions where therfore great and was plenty of off piste powder to hit as well.

The resort itself is nice and i know it isn't the best looking but is far nicer looking than Val Thorens.

There are plenty is of resturants and bars all very reasonable prices with happy hours at most bars most evenings.

The holiday on a whole was great and I would definatley return.

“Chalet des Neiges with Alpine elements-great week's skiing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2011

Had a great weeks skiing in Les Arcs 2000. The Chalet is about 30s walk from the slopes, and the village is pretty high up so the snow quality was pretty good despite a lack of fresh snow throughout the week. Also, despite being right over to the side of the valley, we found it very easy to ski over to do the whole of La Plagne without being rushed for time.
Chaletwise, it was very comfortable and I don't have any complaints. Food was excellent, and we were well looked after by the chalet reps. Only slight thing to mention is that there is a nearby bar, so you can hear the music until it stops at about 11:30(?) - not really a problem to sleep through after a hard days skiing! In addition to the chalet, there is a swimming pool, sauna and steam room which were great after a days skiing.

“Chalet des Neiges Les Arcs 200 with Alpine Elements”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2011

Just came back from a weeks sking in Les Arcs 2000 with alpine Elements. This is the second year we have been to Les Arcs and we wouldn't hesitate to go back again. The snow conditions were not as good as last year, almost spring like conditions, plenty of good snow at the top, bottom runs very worn and icy. The main reason we like this resort as it is not over crowded, no lift queues and long runs with good variety for all abilities, so you are not spending your time getting on and of lifts. This time we only bought the lift pass for 1 day in La Plagne as there is more than enough sking in Les Arcs, plus we prefer the sking in Les Arcs.
The chalet we were in sleeps 12 but for the first part of the week we were the only ones. Our host Phil really looked after us well and really cared how his food tasted I could feel the pounds going on!!. Also before we left we had a phone call from the resort rep to see if we had any special requirements.
We hired our ski's from Sport 2000, who were very efficent and due to a early flight and quick transfer we were able to ski on the Sunday afternoon using the free lifts in Arc 2000.
Thanks for a great holiday Alpine Elements

“Comfortable and enjoyable end of season ski holiday, made so by friendly and efficient chalet host team.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 April 2010

We were looking for an affordable ski holiday in France, in a catered, comfortable and conveniently located chalet. The variety, quality and quantity of cooking by our Alpine Elements chalet hosts, Henry and Harry , surpassed our expectations (I have been on my bathroom scales today!). Having an ensuite shower was a bonus but the bedroom (cramped) was not the quietest being next to the living area/kitchen. Had the weather not been as brilliant as it was, we would have struggled without any clothes drying facilities/space - not even a radiator/towel rail in our room. However we could not have been better looked after in every other respect. The resort manager, Oli, and entire Alpine Elements team (notably Ellie) in resort was outstanding in their customer care throughout our stay. The chalet was well located, very near the lift and good to have shared use of the nearby swimming pool, cross-trainer, weights and bike - the only problem finding unsupervised children clambering all over the machines.
The spectacular view from the communal balcony in the chalet would have been appreciated more if chairs had been available. In-chalet entertainment was limited to the TV handbook and an old bagged up jigsaw puzzle. Definitely recommend taking your own books, music with speakers, games and reading glasses if needed, to help with the dingy lighting in the communal sitting area.
Highly recommend nearest restaurant "Refuge" and slopeside restaurant "Chalet Les Arcs" (highest bakery in the alps) for best ever steak and local specialities.

“Alpine Elements Les Arcs 2000 - Great Trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 March 2010

Arrived back in the UK a few days ago after a great trip away with Alpine Elements to Les Arcs 2000.

I thought that a positive review here was very much justified.

Transfers from Geneva were well organised out and inbound. Even a little van on resort to help out with baggage handling. 3.5 hours from the airport. Travelling on a Sunday was useful for two reasons. Traffic in UK/France/Switzerland is not an issue and there is no one on the slopes on a Saturday. Was great to see all the hosts unpacking and packing the coaches.

Orientation on resort was easy due to hosts friendlness and small tour to get hire equipment.

Accomodation - very good. Had a private balcony which was very much taken advantage of, especially with the Couple of little quibbles. Heat in chalet, sometimes too much. Take an extra pillow if you can. One small pillow isn't enough for me.

Food - excellent. Some great meals and good variety throughout the week. Always had plenty of food and wine. Good post piste cake too!

Staff - Our chalet hosts Henry and Harry were both brilliant. They provided helpful advice on a variety of subjects. I feel they did their best to make us comfortable and were great for a bit of friendly banter. Jo and Oli, the resort managers, provided us with everything else we needed during our stay. Really impressed with their efforts.

Les Arcs 2000 as a resort - If I was going back I would try out 1800 as it was a much busier resort; more than four times the size of Les Arcs 2000. Also that side of the mountain had the better skiing. 'The Bowl' that 1950 and 2000 are situated in contains too much flat for me.

Summary

Alpine Elements - very impressed, would travel with them again. UK and resort staff all great.

Les Arcs - 2000 was fine, would like to try 1800 if I went back.
