“very good resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We had booked this resort based on review in tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. it is avery good place in terms of comfort and faclities. staff is extremely cooperative and go out of way to make your stay enjoyable. resort encourages locals in terms of employement and assisting them in improving standar of living. it is good effort. resort is located i midst of jungle and close to mukki gate. villages sourrinding resort are very clean. for vegetarians the food tends to be repeatative. for all our meals i e 6 meals we had gobi flower.this becomes little boring.

“Bliss.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2011

We selected the property based on its online reviews and we were not let down. Comfort, Luxury and Rustic, all rolled into one, combined with personal attention and fantastic service from the entire staff.
The rooms are very spacious, fantastic big bathrooms, sit out outside the cottage facing the wild forest, great air conditioning, comfortable large beds all of which makes this place the most ideal place to relax after a long safari in the forest. Their pool is very large and good as well.
The only minor drawback is its location; its about 10 odd kms away from the Mukki Gate. It was not a hassle during summer, as crowds werent much and we could leave the resort at 5 and be at the gate at 5.15 am and still be about 9 or 10th in the queue. But it would be a potential problem in winters. Arriving even an hour before the gate opens does not guarantee you a first entry into the forest. Open roads and open gyspy drive in the early morning in the biting cold is another problem. But it is a small price in the larger scheme of things. The Baagh has a wonderful Naturalist in house - mr. Manavendra Singh, great eye for the forest, could spot amazing birds and animals when an average forest guide would miss it. Its worth it to have him in your safari, he can make up for an average guide you might land up with in the roster system.

“Jewel - incredible Service, Food, Accommodations”

I feel really lucky to have stumbled upon this place in one of my guidebooks. We wanted to see some tigers and stay somewhere comfortable. We didn’t really have high expectations since Kanha National Park is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. When we walked into our room/cottage, it was as if we stepped into a stately English home. The décor was superbly tasteful, everything was new/clean, and the bathroom was one of the nicest we’ve had in India. And we’re in the middle of nowhere! The food was incredible – we basically had the chef to ourselves. Delicious Indian cuisine – super healthy. The breakfasts that were packed for us for our safaris were regal. The pool was the cleanest I’ve been to in India, which was another big surprise. It was nice to take a dip during our lunchtime break. Our park guide was super nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. His #1 priority was that we were enjoying ourselves and that we saw incredible wildlife. The staff made us feel like we were apart of their family – always watching our every move to make sure we felt comfortable and happy. I cannot recommend this place enough. A total jewel!

“If going to Kanha think no more.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 March 2011

My husband booked this hotel for our Wildlife MP trip where we were covering Pench-Kanha-Bandhavgarh. He selected the hotel based on the TripAdvisor rating and the hotel website.
The entrance to the place made me doubt the place as it has a village-feel to it. The great experience started with an unusual and tasty guava drink. The property looked great with nice greenery all around and great looking newly constructed cottages.

Out cottage was spacious, clean, aesthetically decorated with great bathroom. Great Bathrooms are must for any place to be cleaned as great. So the bathroom is freshly done and is pretty spacious. I can easily compare it to the Taj Bathrooms, was even better in some respect.

The cottage is huge. Bed and beddings were comfortable. Room decor was great.

The food and the service is just great. I don't know who has trained the staff on hospitality. They made us feel really special and nice. I over-ate on all occassions. It was hard to refuse them when they serve this nicely.

The property is great. They have a huge water body behind the main compound. It's so nicely maintained. They even have sugarcane field there. We spent good 3-4 hours exploring the property. Felt so close to the nature as we sat in the sun-set with birds chirruping. It was pure bliss.

The staff would tell us stories about tigers, their lifestyle. They seemed very knowledgeable. That was a bonus

We haven't tipped more on any of our visit. It was simply great.

“The Baagh, Kanha National Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2008

We visted Kanha National Park in January 2008, staying at The Baagh for 3 nights. In each of Junior Suite have open views with the reservoir. The Bathroom have rain shower in clubiales with the separate tub with solar water heating systems & hairdryer. The Rooms, balconies & bathrooms with Katni marble flooring. The resort staff were extremely helpful and eager to please. During our visit we had 5 private jeep safaris and 2 elephant rides. The elephant rides to see the sightings by the park officials, but we had an elephant ride each morning. We had 3 tiger sightings during our stay and have some excellent close up photos. We also saw a sloth bear early in the morning, 3 kinds of deer & indian bison, wild boar, leopard and lots of birds.
