“This hostel is the reason that make u wanna go to Switzerland again!”

We stayed there during 22 Jan to 25 Jan. Jean Louis and Christopher are the best host we have met. They welcome and treat us like family.

The hostel is very clean, the room view is good, we could see the jungfrau region from our room.

The location is good, 5 to 10 mins from station, with supermarket nearby, convenient to go to jungfraujoch.

The breakfast is very good with yummy home made yogurt, and Jean Louis always make us hot chocolate by himself. We got a nice surprise from him on our last day, which is really out of our expectation! We will definitely come back again!

“The best mistake I made in my travel lifetime”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

That's a funny story, so be seated!

I was traveling with my parents through Europe, and had everything scheduled and booked in advance.
We were supposed to go to Zurich, where I thought I had booked this nice hotel called Roessli.
Well, when we were leaving Vienna and heading to the airport, I just found that I had booked Hotel Roessli, but the Hotel Roessli at INTERLAKEN, not at Zurich.
Since everything was already paid, and my parents wanted to go to a Ski Station, so we thought: whatever, let's rent a car and we can go there (130 km from Zurich Airport)!
Since it was the 25th December, they did not have ANY car at the Airport, so we have to made a 2:30 hours trip by train to get there.
But beware, it was worth!!!!
When we got to Interlaken, all we could see in the night sky was stars (what a nice sky!!!), and the hotel was 5 minutos from the train station.
At the hotel, Christopher, the owner, was very kind and helped us with our luggages (they were quite heavy) when we got there.
The room had a good size, it was well cleaned, and a good heating system (important in December).
Next day, the major good surprise. At the breakfast, the omnipresent Jean-Louis, speaking in five languages and trying to keep everybody happy and comfortable!!! What a nice fellow!!! Even when my mom got a cold, he was kind enough to ask if she needed any medicine or anything else.
Also, when we needed help to rent a car and to do sightseeing, everybody was ready to help us and solve our problems.
What can I say... it's not common to feel like home when you are 8 thousand km from home, and they do it with such a charm that it's impossible not to be enchanted by this place!
I can only thank you all for the way you treat your guests, for the lovely CD that JL gave us when we were leaving, and for not getting mad at me when I forgot to return my key and found it out only when I was already in Basel (and believe it or not, they had already called the Car Company at the airport to alert me that I had forgot to give back the key).
I hope to be back soon!
Best Regards from the d'Avila Family from Brazil!!!!

“Simply the best”

My family and myself have once again enjoyed another superb stay at Hotel Rosslli.
Everybody here from Jean-Louis, Christopher, Nadine and all of the other staff were absolutely brilliant at making our stay relaxing.
Breakfast time is a joy, with a really nice continental breakfast and plenty of lovely coffee all served with a smile.
This was our umpteenth stay and we will be returning because it's like our home away from home, so warm and welcoming and somewhere we can relax and chill out.
If you are looking for a friendly, comfortable hotel with staff that cannot do enough for you then the Hotel Rosslli is the perfect place to stay.
I cannot fault a thing about it and I am looking forward to returning.

“Good stay but not fancy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

We stayed in Interlaken for three nights in April 2011. The hotel is very basic; our room was clean and comfortable, but not fancy. Instead of a double bed we had two twin beds pushed together, which I gather is normal for the area. The WiFi worked fine. The breakfast is basic but the servings are plentiful and the coffee is very good. The father and son owners are incredibly helpful in terms of providing guidance for local restaurants and tourist attractions. From the hotel, you can easily walk through Unterseen and through all of downtown Interlaken. We had a rental car, and the hotel has a complimentary parking lot. The price is good for the value, though it's less fancy than a B&B and more like a very comfortable hostel with private rooms, en suite baths, and a large breakfast.

“Fantastic hosts and a perfect Christmas holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

My husband and I spent Christmas at Hotel Roessli and couldn't have asked for more. The minute you walk in your greeted with warmth and hospitality. The hotel is run by a family, mainly Christopher and his father Jean Louis. We spent the first morning laughing with Jean Louis and listening to his eclectic music and stories from around the world. He is the perfect host and you can tell he's mastered the art over the years. The entire family was more than welcoming, it felt like a 'home away from home' and was perfect during the Christmas season.

Christopher was very helpful with suggesting different local activities. There is a ski rental shop a block away and a cute grocery store. We ended up skiing two say and sledding one, it was great! The town and surrounding areas are breathtaking, you won't be disappointed! Thank you for the wonderful memories Jean-Louis, listening to Bécaud made the long drive home much more enjoyable :) Take care and we will see you again!
