That's a funny story, so be seated!
I was traveling with my parents through Europe, and had everything scheduled and booked in advance.
We were supposed to go to Zurich, where I thought I had booked this nice hotel called Roessli.
Well, when we were leaving Vienna and heading to the airport, I just found that I had booked Hotel Roessli, but the Hotel Roessli at INTERLAKEN, not at Zurich.
Since everything was already paid, and my parents wanted to go to a Ski Station, so we thought: whatever, let's rent a car and we can go there (130 km from Zurich Airport)!
Since it was the 25th December, they did not have ANY car at the Airport, so we have to made a 2:30 hours trip by train to get there.
But beware, it was worth!!!!
When we got to Interlaken, all we could see in the night sky was stars (what a nice sky!!!), and the hotel was 5 minutos from the train station.
At the hotel, Christopher, the owner, was very kind and helped us with our luggages (they were quite heavy) when we got there.
The room had a good size, it was well cleaned, and a good heating system (important in December).
Next day, the major good surprise. At the breakfast, the omnipresent Jean-Louis, speaking in five languages and trying to keep everybody happy and comfortable!!! What a nice fellow!!! Even when my mom got a cold, he was kind enough to ask if she needed any medicine or anything else.
Also, when we needed help to rent a car and to do sightseeing, everybody was ready to help us and solve our problems.
What can I say... it's not common to feel like home when you are 8 thousand km from home, and they do it with such a charm that it's impossible not to be enchanted by this place!
I can only thank you all for the way you treat your guests, for the lovely CD that JL gave us when we were leaving, and for not getting mad at me when I forgot to return my key and found it out only when I was already in Basel (and believe it or not, they had already called the Car Company at the airport to alert me that I had forgot to give back the key).
I hope to be back soon!
Best Regards from the d'Avila Family from Brazil!!!!
