We stayed in chalet swiss from 1st november to 4th November.'11..Good hotel to stay during Winter...Had a lovely view from our room..the children enjoyed very muchas they got to sleep in the beds in the attic...Very authentic..The food was excellent..Initially we thought the staff were rude but we were wrong..they are quiet friendly..
the Interlaken west station is just 10 minutes from the hotel..

Overall a very good experience...

The Hotel is small and nice but my experience was not good simply because of one single person. We reached the Hotel at around 10 AM and were told that the Room will be available at 12.30 PM only. Ofcourse I understand that and was fine but I requested her to see if any room is available (as had an overnite flight). She very rudely told me that "I just told you 12.30 and you can read what it says here". 10 minutes later another Swiss couple came with their luggage to check in and she gave them the keys (dont know why). Anyways we came back at around 12.15 PM and asked for the room and then she says "I told you 12.30 and its 12.15 so please come back". At 12.30 she was not there and came to the reception at 12.35 and when I asked her for the room, she just kept the keys on the table without any greeting or saying anything. So overall a very rude lady. I wish the lady from the night shift had been there as she was really nice and spoke very politely.
But to talk about the Hotel, its a nice small place around 8-10 minutes walk from the Interlaken West station.
But coz of my experience there, i wont stay there again or refer it to any of my friends.

I had been to interlaken many years ago so was very keen to return,stayed at this hotel,it made a great base for seeing the sights of switzerland. Staff were very helpfull ask and they will deliver, loved the food and carnt wait to return,every one makes you feel at home. switzerland is a beautiful place

Admittedly I booked late so was running out of options and booked this in a rush. The location is good and the building looks nice. The staff are generally reasonable and polite but some obviously have been in it too long and starting to become borderline rude. Now, I know I didn't book a Hilton but there are some basic amenities I expect but were lacking here:
1. Breakfast - expect it cold. Anything warm has to be paid for additionally
2. Poor internet. Was a blessing in disguise for me but did not help when I couldn't check or book excursions before hand. It just didn't work for me in the room.
3. Light fixtures in the room were not working
4. Phone in the room did not work
5. No vacuuming over the 5 days we were there
6. No kettle or teabags/coffee in the room
7. Rickety furniture - creaking cupboard doors (I had to oil it eventually), TV stand without a leg

Other than the above, things are fine. The bar staff was good, the restaurant menus looked appetising.
