This B&B was perfect. A clean room with its own cleaner bathroom. The owners (young German Couple) were very friendly and the house was very clean and neat. I would deffinalty recomend this house to anyone. We were there for one night, the price was good and they own the B&B down the street with a good restaurant on the first floor. I would deffinalty recommend this house to anyone who is traveling through the area. I am not sure the prices in the summer but the off season rate was priced correctly for what the room is. Looking forward to staying again.

This B & B has a distinctive European flavor which is clean and uncluttered. We were not used to sleeping with each of us having our own duvet (no sheets) but must admit, we were quite warm and cozy in the Nicholas Deny room. Although their web site says we would have a shared bath, actually the bathroom was just for us .. not shared, but was just across the hall. Breakfast consisted of fruit, yogurt, scrambled eggs, coffee, homemade jams and more, with everything being fresh, hot and very yummy and service with a smile! There really are not a lot of places to eat supper in the tiny village of St. Peter’s but our hostess, Beate Hassold, shared that she and her husband also owned the McDonald House in town (which has a formal dining room). We were not disappointed when we chose to have our supper there as the food, service and price were second to none! We felt the clean, quiet, cozy Canal House is modestly priced with great value, considering we had internet connection, our own t.v. in the room, a delicious breakfast and great service. There is no formal parking (we parked on the street) but as we came and went, never had a problem finding a parking spot.

This establishment is operated by the same folks who run the Canal House B and B.
It was exceptionally clean, well priced and appointed and the staff was courteous and efficient. Althought I did not eat there I heard from other guests that the food was great.

We were in the area for a wedding and stayed for three nights. However, it was too hot and humid in their rooms and I did not like returning late at night to have to use the outside fire escape. The first night our bedding, including the duvet, was fresh and clean but very damp and not thoroughly dried. It was like sleeping on a wet towel. I feel these rooms would benefit from air conditioners during the humid months. I would not stay there again.

This is a comfortable and friendly B&B, though the room we had (MacAskill) was quite small. We stayed for three nights and expected perhaps that the owners might change towels or tidy up sometime during the stay, but in fact they never entered the room while we were booked there. Other B&B's we've been in routinely make beds, clean bathrooms and freshen towels (though there seems to be no "standard" in this regard with B&Bs generally). Breakfasts were terrific, and different every morning. The couple who own the B&B go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.

The B&B is off the mainstreet in St Peters and very quite at night. It's convenient for the Marina (less than a 1/4 mile down the street) and also for restaurants in town (walk to everything). Can highly recommend the Bras 'd'Or Lakes Inn for meals (has a great French chef).
