We stayed in this hotel by coincidence,my uncle who live's in the town had some unexpected guest and therefore room for us was not avaible,we come to the comfort inn and spend 4 days ,it was good having to know that is my home town and enjoyed the first big hotel coming to this area,altough we live in canada it was so nice ,the service,the security around the hotel and best of all the friendlyness of all the people around us,if we come back we wiil stay again in this property if my uncle let me tough.

This hotel was built to capitalize on the new deep water port being built about a quarter mile away. It is a real find. La Union is a little rough around the edges, although great people, and this hotel is a haven. They actually will be hosting cruise ships at the new port when it opens supposedly the end of 2008; but I'm not sure what disembarking passengers will do at this stop. City fathers better get moving to provide something. The Comfort Inn is managed by a Honduran transplant who is very sharp and accomodating. The rooms are antiseptic clean. There is hot water; a luxury in El Salvador. In fact, this facility is totally self-supported; water treatment plant, electrical plant and sewage processing plant. I was impressed. The AC can freeze halibut and the restuarant, occasionally serving halibut, is very nice. You can't go wrong here!

In response to another reviewer of this hotel on Expedia: everything worked well in my room and at the hotel. Computer station with internet access and breakfast are included in the cost of the room. Wireless is located in several places in the hotel. The pool is small, but very relaxing and the view is spectacular of the ships and water. Exercise room has A/C and t.v. and equipped well if you do not want to go walk in the heat. Great and friendly staff will help you with any problem you encounter and all you need to do is ask. We have booked a group there for later this year and look forward to our stay.

I traveled to La Union on business during my first trip to El Salvador. I did not expect such a nice hotel would be located here in a somewhat remote area of the country. I was very pleasantly surprised. The pool area was very nice with a large covered area, the rooms were very clean and well-maintained and the restaurant was good but crowded. It was on par with other Comfort Inn's I have stayed at in the States. The pool area looks out over the Bay or Gulf of Fonseca, I believe but they are constructing a new port so the view is somewhat marred by the work taking place. There were security guards located on the property and I felt very safe.
