“Great value B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

Eight of us spent two nights here as part of a weekend's golf at the stunning nearby Nefyn and District Golf Club. Each of us had single occupancy rooms. Check-in was fast and efficient, as was check-out. Rooms were perfectly acceptable (apart from the poltergeist that turned the tele on at 3 in the morning!) with small but perfectly functional en-suite with shower (no bath). Within walking distance of a pub/restaurant, chippy, Kebab/Pizza place, Wine bar/restaurant, cafe, Spar and Post Office. Breakfast was great - full fried breakfast or variations thereon with plenty of coffee, toast and fruit juice as well as a choice of cereals/yoghurt. Owners were helpful, attentive and pleasant. It had a bar and games room, but we didn't make use of either. It's not a five star hotel, it's a B&B, so it should be judged as such. Overall, excellent value for money.

“A friendly place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011

We had 2 nights with a large group going to a wedding. Ruth was very welcoming, the bedroom clean and tidy and the evening meal appetising. Breakfasts were excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. If we were to return to this area we would stay there again.

“Not so good”

We arrived at what seemed a fantastic hotel surrounded by breathtaking scenery. We made our way into the reception and after ringing the bell on two occasions was greeted by the receptionist. We were shown to our room which seemed to take an eternity to arrive and after further investigation was an awful 1970s extention built onto the main house. The sea view from the room was magnificant but spoilt by the green mould on the balcony railings and the cheap white garden chairs. There was damp patches on the wall above the bed and someone had tried to hide this by applying numerous coverings of wallpaper. The carpet had food stains on and there was two very tired looking tub chairs which were blue in colour with white stains on.The television was tiny and had a sticker on saying MOVE@YOUR OWN RISK.The shower was a joke and it was a push on the taps type and looked about 30 years old.The brochures you normally get in hotels advertising places to visit were there to look at but were dated from 2006.I think that with a little investment and imagination this could really be a fantastic hotel as it is set in very picturesque area.

“Oh my god it was awful”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2011

On entering this hotel, you will be suprised to find you are not in a nursing home as the lounge area is an empty mass of old people chairs pushed against the walls, just waiting for saggy bottoms! There is an awful smell as though the old people just left. It is quite unacceptable to open a hotel of this standard and expect people to stay there. We could only stay one night, the smell was so bad. It would cost a fortune to renovate a hotel of this size. It is in a beautiful position and in it's day would have been a beautiful hotel but it is way past it's sell by date. If it were mine, I would knock down the wing at the back and concentrate on the attractive front part of the hotel and have a smaller but much improved number of rooms to attract people would appreciate a home away from home.

“Overpriced”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 April 2011

We were the only guests and the hotel was very cold and unwelcoming. The shower in our room was a ruber hose attatchment to the bath taps. Our main complaint was the price of the food we paid £22 for 2 courses which consisted of a bit of bought pate and white toast and the main course was a frozen steak pie with frozen veg and chips. We only saw 1 member of staff who was quite pleasant but there was absolutely no atmosphere to the place. we did not stay for breakfast which would have cost us £10 each.
