“nice lodge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2010

i use the travelodges a lot using their sales rooms only as i travel with my disabled mum & a very tight budget & if it was'nt for the lodges we wouldnt get away so much

this is as good a lodge as we have stayed in..had a very easy check in then asked for extra pillows which were brought to the room by very helpful staff. who were also very knowledgable staff. my only bad point is that it's a lodge that needs the updating that most lodges are going througjh then it will be top notch

your central for everything but with next to no noise whatsoever planning on using this lodge again next year

“Stay in a local B&B instead”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2010

The sofa bed was not made up and the beds only had 1 skinny pillow per person. There was noise from a generator at regular intervals and loud stamping overhead. Given that we paid £53 for the room and the breakfast pack would've cost another £16.50 for 3 of us it did not work out good value for money. The bed was also uncomfortable and low to the floor. My advice is stay in a local B&B instead, even if it costs a few pounds more. We recently paid £80 a night for a family room in an Inn and got a huge room with beds made up, plasma TV hospitality tray and fantastic 3 course breakfast.

Use Travelodge if you can get the cheap £29 a room rate but otherwise don't waste your money

“great place to use as a base”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2010

pleasantly surprised by how good this travelodge was, have heard many good and bad points -so was hoping for the best, but fearing the worst !
friendly and helpful greeting from reception during check -in, very clean and well kept car park area.reception area also clean and welcoming.
all main areas appeared clean and well maintained.
we stayed in a family room -kingsize bed and 2 singles - (sofa had a pull-out single underneath, these were fine for the children, but dont know how comfy they would be for older teenagers or adults tho)
the room was very clean (i even checked under the bed and sofa !!) bathroom was clean (tho there appeared to be some marks on the shower curtain, looked like a 'hair dye' type mark -but they were hardly noticible)
room and bathroom smelt fresh and aired.
bedding and towels were clean and felt freshly pressed.
tea making facilites were ok -but we only had 2 t bags and 2 coffee portions, so if you like a few cuppas like we did -you would need to ask reception for more.
plenty of towels ( 2 large and 2 small) these were also changed daily.
no restaurant on site, a couple of confectionary machines in the lobby -breakfast bags were available to order, and receptionist had take away menus which would deliver to the travelodge, or she could reccomend some places to eat out if wanted. there is a Wilkinsons a minuites walk away -they sell provisions, also a large asda over the road -or a larger tesco a couple of minuites drive up the road who have an in store cafe. there is also a mcdonalds next to that.
car parking is limited -we had no trouble as we didnt leave it too late before coming back -but the carpark seemed to fill up by approx 9.30pm -but the receptionist did say extra carparking was available next door -so be prepared if you check in late.
we had a couple of problems - 1 of our pillows went missing (i presume houskeeping took it ) and reception had no spares, so i had to roll up some clothing to use instead.
the doors to the room are quite heavy and do bang quite loudly -the floor in the corridor is also rather noisy- so if you are a light sleeper , people coming back to their rooms late may disturb you !
not in the nicest location -but there is no road noise to speak of, and everything was pretty quite in the evening -which is what we liked .
tenby approx 10 miles away -so we used the travelodge as our base and went out during the day, returning in the evening -which was ideal for us.

overall a really good place to stopover, i would choose a travelodge again .

overall a

“Be aware your room may not available if you arrive late at night”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 April 2010

We had booked into this travelodge for Sat night as we arrived on the late ferry from Ireland. We arrived at reception (me, my husband 4 month old baby and 6 yr old son)
to be informed that no room was available, it was 01.45 and we were very tired following the crossing. I had previously contacted the reception prior to our holiday and was reassurred that even if we arrived late our room would be available. We were given a refund but at that time at night I felt this wasnt good enough. Although we were offered a room at nearby accommodation it looked to be of a poor standard and I didnt want to take any changes with the children. We eventually stayed in Swansea for the night!!

“Great value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 March 2010

What a bargain - a fraction of the price we paid the previous night at a hotel in nearby Lamphey, but cleaner + fresher. The room was basic but served its purpose very well. In the morning we were amazed to see a coachload of teenage boys loading their luggage back onto their bus - we had slept well and not heard a peep out of them overnight.
