pleasantly surprised by how good this travelodge was, have heard many good and bad points -so was hoping for the best, but fearing the worst !
friendly and helpful greeting from reception during check -in, very clean and well kept car park area.reception area also clean and welcoming.
all main areas appeared clean and well maintained.
we stayed in a family room -kingsize bed and 2 singles - (sofa had a pull-out single underneath, these were fine for the children, but dont know how comfy they would be for older teenagers or adults tho)
the room was very clean (i even checked under the bed and sofa !!) bathroom was clean (tho there appeared to be some marks on the shower curtain, looked like a 'hair dye' type mark -but they were hardly noticible)
room and bathroom smelt fresh and aired.
bedding and towels were clean and felt freshly pressed.
tea making facilites were ok -but we only had 2 t bags and 2 coffee portions, so if you like a few cuppas like we did -you would need to ask reception for more.
plenty of towels ( 2 large and 2 small) these were also changed daily.
no restaurant on site, a couple of confectionary machines in the lobby -breakfast bags were available to order, and receptionist had take away menus which would deliver to the travelodge, or she could reccomend some places to eat out if wanted. there is a Wilkinsons a minuites walk away -they sell provisions, also a large asda over the road -or a larger tesco a couple of minuites drive up the road who have an in store cafe. there is also a mcdonalds next to that.
car parking is limited -we had no trouble as we didnt leave it too late before coming back -but the carpark seemed to fill up by approx 9.30pm -but the receptionist did say extra carparking was available next door -so be prepared if you check in late.
we had a couple of problems - 1 of our pillows went missing (i presume houskeeping took it ) and reception had no spares, so i had to roll up some clothing to use instead.
the doors to the room are quite heavy and do bang quite loudly -the floor in the corridor is also rather noisy- so if you are a light sleeper , people coming back to their rooms late may disturb you !
not in the nicest location -but there is no road noise to speak of, and everything was pretty quite in the evening -which is what we liked .
tenby approx 10 miles away -so we used the travelodge as our base and went out during the day, returning in the evening -which was ideal for us.
overall a really good place to stopover, i would choose a travelodge again .
overall a
