Stayed just one midweek night. All the building work had been completed and the hotel looked very smart. Our room in the old part of the hotel was small but nicely decorated with a huge bed and the ensuite shower room was satisfactory. We ate in the restaurant that evening and the meal was excellent, well presented by very nice staff. In fact the service throughout the hotel was excellent. The full Breakfast was freshly cooked to order however the plate looked empty - no mushrooms or beans. There was an extra charge for that which we thought was "mean". However that was our only complaint. We did not try the pool area.

This hotel is much for like a four star hotel than a three star - to be honest, if it was in London the room would be considered a 5 star! We stayed in the new rooms that have been recently done called the Barrister rooms (I think). Amazing. The bathrooms are huge and the beds are amazingly comfortable. The rooms are extremely spacious with beautiful furniture and there is free wi-fi which amazed me. Good size flat screen tv, coffee and tea making facilities with biscuits, water in rooms, new hairdryer and even an ipod doc! The food is fantastic and with a great selection. Breakfast has everything you could want which is all cooked for you (except for the cereals and juices which are already out on a small buffet). The hotel has been renovated recently but still has the country aspect. Good size pool and wonderful sauna to warm up after being on country walks. I would give this hotel 11 out of 10 anyday.

There for a family wedding, I have to say it was just delightful, the staff were wonderful, the ambience perfect, the food excellent. We had quite a gathering of family and friends, at times the place felt like it was our home, very relaxing and peaceful. If there were any downsides, the family room was cramped, the pool was small and too shallow to swim properly, and the bar bill attached to the final bill was very steep. If only they did not get you at the bar, the whole experience was a definite 9 out of 10

We booked this hotel through the peppa pig web site room 13 which was in the old part of the hotel, very 'last of the summer wine' looking room (sink in bedroom), small room - thick dust behind radiator- not normally the type of room I'd go for in a hotel looked more like a b&b room. I asked at reception if we could move to one of the new rooms but she was really struggling (think she was new) she ended up blurting out I could ask the other receptionist but they woulding be in until the evening and then she finished off by saying it would probably cost us too much money to move room probably well over £100 at that bizaar comment we decided not to ask again and just accept the room after all it was only for 1 night. Has a small swimming pool, water was lovely and warm. Evening food ordered from the bar was lovely - really enjoyed and good service. Breakfast was nice - waiter style service worked great - lovely conservatory view to the grounds.
