We stayed over New yrs eve, the room was clean and similar to travel lodge but that's fine as you find most motels cleaner than some of their 4 star rivals. The new years eve event promised red carpet, pro photographer snapping you as you enter a huge "classy" marquee. We paid £110 just for the nye event alone. There was a red carpet, dirty one but that was to be expected we live through an England winter, no photographer!! And upon entering the marquee I seemed to be the only person who was shocked to discover that there was no monitored cloak room!? As had to stick my expensive coat onto a hanger, hang it onto clothes rack behind a curtain! Anyone could steal it!! Anyway we got drinks, nice & strong, was needed. We sat on some couches ( no plush couches within dimly lit environment to be seen as presented on the web) the lighting was close to being in Tesco's! The toilets? They were mobile! And quite a squeeze after you had already waited a good while for the previous person to finish filling their nose, oh sorry I meant applying their lipstick! I'm sure the amount of cocaine left all over the toilets was nothing to do with the hotel guests, surely not! So the security was pretty dire at this place and "classy" had died a very long time ago!

Overnight stay. Positives:-free carpark and wifi. Clean room. Can be better:-daily cleaning of bathroom to prevent mould from growing. Breakfast at 0800-1030, could be earlier if u have an early appointment.

This hotel is everything you would expect from a Village Hotel, very clean and tidy, staff very pleasant, and for what I needed a good location.
The bar was very nice and reasonably priced and the health club was a great little add on for me and the kids to enjoy.
Only downside was the room service we ordered, the food we got was only luke warm and the drinks we ordered did not arrive until after we reminded the waiter about them. Its a shame as this let the hotel down a little.
I would return here but perhaps eat in the bar or restaurant to avoid the chance of the mistake again.

Stayed in the Village a couple of weeks ago having last stayed in the Village in Headingley, Leeds. On first appearances, the hotel looks good - the reception area, public areas etc look OK and the service at the reception desk is fine. Gym and pool area is fine - pool is a good size and there seems to be a wealth of equipment in the gym. But doesn't feel like a place you'd go to relax.

However, the rooms leave a lot to be desired. They are clean, but the just look dated; bathroom needs re-grouting, heating system didn't actually seem to warm the room up, the bed was tiny and there was lots of evidence of cost cutting; cheap soap dispensers in bathroom; notice of a £2.50 fee for paying by credit card at reception, although I wasn't actually charged this; corridor carpets that need replacing, etc. Can't grumble too much for around £75 but there are cheaper (Travelodge) and better (Thornton Hall) options nearby.
