All show no go. If you're expecting at lease a few winks sleep then do not stay here. Our midnight telephone call to reception did result in the thumping disco music finally being switched off but the following clear up operation went on long afterwards. The staff admited they did forget to tell us there was an 18th birthday party going on but they were keen to take our money at the time and did nothing to remedy the situation. Certainly not impressed! Ask before you stay if the downstairs disco is booked buyer beware!

I came with an elderly relative, our room was upgraded, staff went out of their way to help and accommodate us. Everyone was really friendly. The rooms were clean, comfortable and decorated well. The food in the restaurant was amazing. Can't wait to return.

My Girlfriend and I arrived at the hotel with no great expectations, however, we were both very surprised at the quality, comfort of our surroundings and the exceptional service from the young, enthusiastic and charismatic team.

We grew extremely fond of our room with a twin balcony and fantastic sea view. although the lounge and bar are a hub of activity, in a very positive way, it's easy to be lost in a world of your own. The room was very clean, although not overly spacious, but very importantly, gave us that homely feel.

The restaurant was busy every evening, paying testament to it's popularity with residents of the hotel and locals. I must admit that although we did not use the restaurant in the evening for ourselves, fellow visitors were full of superlatives. We had a full breakfast one morning, which was of a decent standard, however, was a case of quality over quantity. Not moaning, just a meagre observation, although the complimentary continental offerings were plentiful.

The break for us was a weekend getaway from the humdrum of London Life and we were both in agreement that the stay at the Sandgate, worked a treat for relaxing and forgetting about work and the big smoke!

Just wished we had taken another couple of days off work to be by the sea in a cracking little hotel!

definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a short/long getaway, you will not be disappointed. We definitely will be returning for a longer stay next time around.

My husband and I went for two nights and took my parents. We had a lovely break and the housekeeping staff were particularly kind to my parents. We would definitely go back there.
