We stayed for 1 night during October 2011. The rooms were clean & comfortable & the village location makes for a frendly atmosphere. The bathroom was fine (a little small) but with an excellent shower & again it was clean and had everything we needed.

The restaraunt has a comprehensive menu, serving good quality food. The service we received was very good, the staff were attentive, friendly & helpful.

A lovely village Inn.

We spent one night at this hotel, arriving quite late in the evening, we received a warm welcome from Bev and was given a very good sized en-suite bedroom. There was an interesting book available in the room to read about the history of the village The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast the following morning was freshly cooked and served by Bev, who again gave us a cheerful and friendly service. We learned that each year, there is an event to celebrate the music of Glenn Miller which is so popular that the hotel is almost fully booked for the event late next year already. We would recommend this place to stay if visiting this part of the UK.

Exceeded expectations, very very friendly helpful staff, Jamie and bev couldn't do enough for you, food was excellent and very reasonable, and being vegetarian, something for everyone. The room was super clean, modern, and looked smart, flat screen tv, lovely new looking bathroom with a good shower (always important), and the bed was the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. Overall our stay here was fantastic, faultless, we will definitely be returning.

In contrast to the earlier reviewer, I had a completely different and friendly experience. I checked in, explaining that I may not be back from work before the restaurant closed. Jamie offered to have the chef prepare something for my room, if I was late. I arrived back at 10:30pm, 1 minute from getting to my room, Jamie called to say my food was available, she met me in the bar and ensured I was able to get a couple of pints of their excellent Speckeld Hen. Even though she was clearly busy tidying p for the night, she had time to chat and make me feel very welcome.
In the morning, Bev showed exactly the same level of friendliness and interest. Chatting while she served an excellent breakfast, she made sure I was 100% happy with my stay. I had spent the preious week stopping at various UK hotels including a Hilton. None came close to the my stay at the Queens Head.
