“Don't let the exterior design fool you...............”

Stayed at the Aztec again on thursday while on business, outside it just looks like one of those faceless chains (sorry guys), but as soon as you enter you get the smell of the open fire and are in a very different place.
The bar area is cozy and discreet, the staff are friendly, the beers are awesome - proper handpulled Thwaites in a hotel!
The bar food is great as is the restaurant. Special mention for the breakfast, having stayed lots in Marriotts where they leave the cooked breakfast to steam/sweat on metal warmers, it's great to have a breakfast that really looks as though it has been cooked with care.
Great gym & pool facilities.
The room was clean and comfortable with a nice little raised seating area.
My only gripe is why do you pay £2.50 to park your car??
I have used other Shire Hotels and would happily recommend.

“Aztec Hotel & Spa, Bristol”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I spent 2 very comfortable nights at this hotel. It is modern in design, and a very pleasant place to stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bedroom was more than adequate, clean, and well decorated. The bed was very comfortable.
The Restaurant was better than most with a decent menu to chose from. The bar was well stocked and it was very pleasant sitting in the comfortable lounge.
The Hotel is well situated for the motorway system.

“Great hotel with excellent links to M5 and Bristol”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

This is an excellent hotel. It seems to be used mainly by guests who are making business trips in the area. The Spa is a real treat, food is lovely, but the best for me was that you are given a bottle of milk and good size mugs for coffee, tea or horlicks! Just what I needed when too tired to leave the room in the evening!

“Business Trip to Bristol-great hotel, good facilities, excellent food, staff brilliant.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Great 4 star hotel with really friendly and very competent staff, good rooms and very good leisure facilities including gym and pool. Dinner in the evening was excellent and breakfast was relaxing with good food before a busy day . Its so good to pull off the motorway and get such a good hotel that makes you feel really relaxed prior to a busy next day in the business world. Well done - I hope to be back soon.

Room Tip: Get a room that views the reception and back of the hotel.
