This is very much a typical chain hotel, situated on the service area of the M5 near Portbury. Room was pretty standard except for some reason I was given a disabled room with a bathroom that reminded me of a hospital bathroom. Room was very warm when I arrived, but this was easily rectified by turning off the radiator. The hotel is sited right next to the lorry park, which resulted in some noise during the early morning as the lorries were leaving.
There is nowhere near enough to walk to for a pub or restaurant, unless you use the KFC etc at the service station. However about a mile and a half away I found a very good pub/restaurant called the Priory in Portbury, well worth the short drive. In short it's OK for a night if you want something right on the M5, but I think if you ventured a little further afield you'd find something a little better for this sort of price. It was £60 for a single room for the night without breakfast. I was offered buffet breakfast at about £6, which was served in a small dining area in reception. Remember to register your car on a computer in reception to obtain free parking, otherwise you'll pick up a fine from the number plate recognition system.

Felt very welcome when we arrived late, nothing seemed to much trouble, room was warm and welcoming. Free parking, wifi and newspaper. Good value for a budget hotel. Breakfast an absolute bargain.

My boyfriend & I and my parents booked two rooms with the Daily Mirror £10 offer and we weren't expecting much for £10, however, I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were basic but very clean and tidy, plenty of towels provided and the beds were very comfortable and extra linen was provided in the room.
Tea, coffee, biscuits all in the room - very much the same as a travelodge for a fraction of the price.

I found what I expected. It was clean and comfortable but basic. I was surprised and pleased at how much was offered at breakfast for £5.50. The staff were helpful and efficient. However I found the hotel really difficult to find. It was dark and wet and I left the motorway at junction 19 as directed but the hotel wasn't signposted. Days Inn was listed on a board but this took me to the services area. Again there was no signage for the hotel. Having driven around for a while, I eventually saw the word "hotel" painted on the road. I followed the arrow and found myself in a coach park. I was feeling quite unsafe as I was a woman alone in this dark and deserted parking area. I drove round into the road again and spotted a glimmer of light coming from the hotel building. There is an illuminated sign on the front of the hotel but it's completely obscured by trees and shrubs. What are they thinking of??? I won't be staying there again as I felt unsafe in the car park.
