... because I wanted to keep secret the wonderful experience of Mill Close Farm. We saw it first on a warm, sunny afternoon as it appeared through the lush green of the field where it has stood for hundreds of years. The farmhouse is surrounded by trees and fields of varying hues, with longhorned highland cattle romantically posing in the sunshine. We knew it was going to be good. Patricia opened her door and smiled welcome. The quintessential farmhouse decor, scattered with family photos and the calm of our ensuite fourposter bedroom was perfect. We were given afternoon tea and seduced by Patricia's homemade cake and shortbread on arrival, served in delicate bone china. There was homemade chocolates in the mini fridge, with a jug of milk left every day for our late night coffee's and tea's. I loved the attention to detail - the wine glasses and corkscrew, the basket of needles and cottons: 'just in case', I loved the silence, broken only by birdsong, and the breakfasts ... amazing. Please don't tell anyone ... we want to go back.
All rooms have superb views and are quiet.
