We have found Kreuz Hotel in a online reservation site totally by chance as we were looking for an hotel close to Interlaken to spend the Easter holiday. We made the reservation after seeing its modern web page and good reviews on other review sites.
Place: The hotel is in a beautiful and quiet village called Sachseln which is very close to Interlaken and Luzern. The hotel is a bit higher than the lake level which contributes to its wonderful lake & mountain view.
Hotel: The hotel has a very old history but it was renovated and reopened in 2006. It therefore has a very modern look combined with the artistic/designer taste of the owners. This combination of art and modernity strikes you as you enter the lobby and the front cafe and continue in the rooms as well.
The personnel: The employees as well as the owner of the hotel (who was most of the time there and personally talking to guests, asking if everything was alright) are all extremely friendly and made our stay a real pleasure. This was so different than the standardised and distant behaviour one can see in many big chain hotels.
Rooms: The rooms are clean, modern and the attention to detail is pretty high. Our room had a flat screen TV (with additional speakers in the bathroom :) ), comfortable bed and pillows and all other things you may need and be suprised to see at a 4 star hotel (bathrobe, slippers, welcome fruit/cake plate).
Price: We paid appr. 100 Euro for a double room. This includes the breakfast which also had a rich selection.
To sum up, we were really pleased by the quality of this hotel and recommend to anyone looking for an accomodation in that region.
