This hotel is not worth it. First of all, it is 5 minutes drive from the airport so you have to take an additional taxi to go to the airport because there is no road built yet to walk there!
In addition, we were given a room in floor -2, which was cold and smelt of the cellar. Indeed, humidity can be seen on the walls of the stairs going down to -1 and -2. So, for that price, I would rather have stayed in the city center and taken a taxi directly to catch our flight.

For the last few years we have stayed at the Bergen Thon the evening beofre our return. It seemed 'convenient' based on the very early morning US bound connecting flight departures. Thon advertised a 'convenient, free' sirport shuttle.

Thon appears to have a 'near apirport' monopoly, and our experience is that they take maximum advantage of this situation.

Thon is EXTREMELY overpriced, both for the rooms AND for meals. I was pretty shocked to find a one night stay with dinner for 4 people costing over US$850.00 (no, that is NOT a typo).

To add insult to injury, Thon's airport shuttle service is pure chaos wtih NO management on behalf of the Thon staff, and we wound up having to pay for a cab to the airport anyway. This however is not the best reason you should avoid Thon.

In September 2009, my 79 year old mother stayed at Thon for 1 night before her return flight to the US. She paid the exorbident fee (US$370) and returned home. In February fo 2010, Thon charged her credit card for an additional TWO nights.

For the past three months I have contacted Thon by email and telephone. One would think a simple error like this could be recified in a reasonable timeframe. Not so.

The Thon Hotel in Bergen overcharges aged widows and refuses to rectify their errors. Avoid this hotel at any cost, unless you enjoy paying too much and getting bilked for services not rendered.

Businesses that so blatenly take advantage of the weak and aged should be boycotted in my humble opinion. The Thon will never see another member of my family in their hotel.

We did not have a good experience with the Thon Hotel. The pool was closed, part of the reason we picked to stay there was so we could take our child to swim in the pool. The other reason we picked it was because it was close to the airport and had a free shuttle. Our plane left at 5 AM and the shuttle did not run until after then. So they are supposed to call a cab to pick you up (at your cost). We went down and waited and waited for the taxi they supposedly called. Along with 8-10 toher people. After 15 monutes a cab driver just happend to pull up because he said there is always people waiting there. So I dont believe they had actually even called a cab. The hotel was way overpriced, but at least it was clean. Very disapointing.
